It’s the fact that Trump, himself, was pushing for this investigation into his political rivals that makes this such an offense. The quid pro quo aspect just cements the nature and pressure of the negotiation. An example of being “blind” and willfully ignorant is not realizing that we have federal processes for investigating political corruptions that involve foreign entities and MLAT which establishes joint investigations with other nations. These processes were intentionally bypassed, which stains any potentially legitimate concerns with partisanship and personal vendettas.

The president of the US withheld aid money that was US government authorized money to Ukraine unless they provided some dirt (if there was dirt) on Biden who is his opponent in the race for presidency. The only reason he did this, because Trump probably couldn’t care less, is because Biden is running against him in the race for presidency. This is even worse than what Nixon did. You just don’t seem to understand how seriously illegal this is. But I won’t continue to repeat myself. It’s evident it goes over your head. The presidency isn’t the only branch of government in the US. Trump doesn’t have the authority to do this. He is acting like he is the ultimate authority on EVERY decision. He is not. There are three equal branches of government and he doesn’t override the other two.
