Mississippi Governor Untroubled By COVID Crises In Neighboring States | Rachel Maddow | MSNBC

Rachel Maddow points out that even as Birmingham, Alabama has found it necessary to enact a stay-at-home order, and Louisiana is facing a frightening escalation in COVID-19 cases, the governor of Mississippi is apparently unconcerned about the coronavirus spreading to his state. Aired on 3/24/20.

  1. This party is going to go down in flames. I have zero pity for those who are sacrificing their own cities and state for the party of Trump.

    1. @Near Yetfar consodering italy has racked up 10k deatha alone and the smallest estimate for loss in life in america is 100-200k. Yeah its a pandemic alrighty by those facts alone. I recomend watching a video how the virus behaves and what it does to the human body.

    2. Actually it seems that this virus is affecting predominantly blue regions more. My guess is that liberals have such a disdain for people in positions of authority, and law and order. The Coronavirus map right now looks like the voting map.

    3. F these ignorant low life grifters in the southern states who worship the rebel flag and tell their votes to kiss their ars s. Trash low life s dumb ars s. Don t sent any federal did to these states. Too dumb to live.

    4. @Richard Darlington Yes, we are. We didn’t vote for this. Any of it. We’re on the phone with Reeve’s office every freaking day begging him to make the right decisions for our wellbeing, and it’s fallen on dead ears, for the most part. We have no actual representation down here, and it’s not only heartbreaking, it’s become life-threatening. Anyway, Love and Light from Mississippi, y’all. Everyone stay safe. ✌🏼💚

    5. @Randi Young
Sounds to me like it’s time to stop begging and start demanding.
Can you use social media to post a well-written letter, stating your
demands for people to sign electronically?
A few thousand signatures might make more of an Impression than the same few people calling them every day.
      Just a thought…

  2. No Mississippi is not gonna be China but the whole America is gonna experience a outbreak worse than China.

    1. A lot of my countrymen are about as sharp as a partially melted stick of butter. As a result, many people will die, and they’re A-okay with that; the nutcases.

    2. to everyone: coronavirus travels in aerosol form. So healthy people wearing medical face mask can protect oneself.
      Please take care yourself.

    3. @LeVelle Coley ,
This comment friend, is strictly for historical & scientific reference purposes.
It is not meant to belittle or to heap scorn on you or to point fingers at anyone.

      It is Wednesday, April 1st,2020;
Today, the United States surpassed 188,000 confirmed infections, with over 4500 deaths.

    4. D 80% of those are elderly and internally ILL victims. I get it the death toll has risen but with no context what’s the point? It’s 4600 deaths but 5 states alone account for 3500 of them.

    1. With Rhetoric 47% of Americans think trump is doing a good job, so no, it’s not obvious to a lot of people, esp Evangelicals and southerners.

    2. I. Seen. That and. My. Heart. Just. Broke. He don’t give a dam a whole lot of, Blk “s there and he. Dont. Care If u all make it out. Vote them Out!!!!!

  3. Trump forcing red states to stay open to help economy and stock market. They will regret it in a few weeks.

    1. @Steven R. We have told them the punch is spiked. Go ahead and drink. It may taste funny but anything for your mighty leader.

    2. @Jeremy Backup journey I believe California is the 4th largest economy in the world but your point is well made. California carries a lot of these rebs States on their back with the taxes we pay to the federal government

  4. The Governor of Mississippi has his GED ( Good Enough Diploma) proudly displayed on a wall in his office.

  5. Unfortunately, for him, his words will be his undoing. They say things just in the moment, hoping it will be so. They create these dates, that pass, and still continue to make their clairvoyant forecast. I used to say America Has Come such a long way, it hurts to go backwards. And where is backwards? I’m a grandma, that is expendable according to some of Trump’s people. The thing is, I would give up my ventilator for someone else younger and more vital. But, you know, I shouldn’t have to make that choice. And neither should a doctor. It flies in the face of our Medical establishment, ethics and oaths. Be well, everyone.

    1. I salute you for saying that you would give up your ventilator for someone else younger and more vital.

    2. Pamela, for the decent humans in this country, no one is expendable, regardless of age. I’m so sorry that our elders are being made to feel otherwise. You don’t deserve that.

Please stay safe. Please don’t take any risks. We need everyone to make it through this. 🤗

    1. @Jeremy Backup Can’t argue with those facts, though no one deserves this. I don’t wish it on them, and if I could save them from some of what’s coming I would.

    1. @Rene Hinojosa three posts in a row from a delusional liberal. You should stop breeding because we don’t need any more dirty communists.

    2. @Rey Palpatine delusional is usually associated with Conservatives because of a lack of education, and of course inbreeding. Take your meds and the leave the hard stuff for us to figure out.

  6. When this is over and the bodies are all counted, if they’re still alive, these governors should face crimes against humanity charges.

    1. @Colin Cleveland if those Governor’s would in force it then people would but unfortunately some people are too stupid..

    1. SkyGemini thanks…some of us are quite decent it’s the idiots that get media attention. Please come visit one day if we all aren’t dead from our governors idiotic actions.

    1. Annie S. Can’t READ. Can’t be EDUCATED, cant do ANYTHING. ALWAYS the WORST of the WORST. LET the DIE.

    1. Don’t y’all have death penalty? He’s literally killing people. Everything he says = more deaths in 2 weeks … with the agonizing pain of knowing it’s coming and knowing there’s nothing to be done about these deaths. Today we can only save the people that would have died in 2/3 weeks. Can’t do anything about those that will inevitably die in the next 15 days.

  7. Hi from Birmingham!!!!!! Quarantined and SO proud of my city for acting in the face of our idiotic state government. UAB hospital deserves a freaking standing ovation for what they do.

  8. “We will never going be like China” said by Italian health minister two month ago. “we are an advanced western country with most modern health system, and this is just a flu”

  9. New rule, no one can hold public office without being able to score a 90% on the science and math portion of the GED- then I will know that someone is just evil and not just unbelievably ignorant.
