My father was a police officer. If he were still alive, today, he would’ve been so proud of Officer Brian Sicknick. As a United States Army medic and a Navy veteran, I sure am. Brian fought to defend the Constitution, and he did it with honor, courage, and integrity. My heart goes out to his loved ones.

My uncle, a 96 year old WWII veteran, also refused to shake McCarthy’s hand at a Veterans Day parade in our hometown, Bakersfield, CA. He told the congressman that he is a detriment to our country and that is why he couldn’t shake his hand. Our hearts go out to the brave officers that protected and continue to protect our capital.
