Thousands of people lined up through the night in Edinburgh to pay their last respects to Queen Elizabeth II before her coffin is transported to London Tuesday.

Monday night, King Charles III and his siblings, Anne, Andrew and Edward, bowed their heads briefly standing vigil around their mother’s flag-draped coffin in St Giles’ Cathedral as members of the public filed past. The monarch died Thursday at her beloved Balmoral estate after reigning for 70 years.
