Mulvaney contradicted by his own words | Erin Burnett 1

CNN's Erin Burnett calls acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney's press conference "baffling" after he admitted to a quid pro quo over Ukraine aid. She outlines previous statements from President Donald Trump's administration that denied any quid pro quo. Mulvaney later tried to walk back the claim.

  1. Mulvaney made a mess of that situation today…
But… Is it going to matter this time?

  2. “There was no quid pro quo!”

“Ok, there was a lot of quid pro quo, but we do it all the time, so whatevs…”

  3. This is why they stopped having “press conferences”! Questions are 2 tough to answer without a lie

    • Gary Strauss great argument, you must be a Republican.

    • dru…Got to give you high 5’s there…✋✋✋!!!
That’s a great observation…and, then, here comes, Mulvaney…😂😂😂…he’ll be dancing with the stars, with Sean…oh geez, can’t stop laughing !!!
“Hey…Mr Trump, remember when you kicked me out of, The Oval Office, on National TV, for coughing”???…Well, heres my resignation”…says, Mulvaney…😂😂😂

    • Gary Strauss rofl typical uneducated Trumpist response – sling ad hominems when you can’t recite someone’s point. What’s next, “no you!”? 🤣😂

    • Sarah Sanders that sad sack would have lied through her teeth and not skipped a beat. Mulvaney just hosed the president even worse than he already was.

  4. Being casual and saying it’s not illegal is not a defense. It’s still illegal 🤷‍♂️

Quid pro quo, in and of itself, is not illegal. Only in certain circumstances, such as the exchange of money for sex, or as in this case, the alleged exchange for interference in an election. Quid pro quo occurs all the time — every time you buy groceries, for example. You’re exchanging one thing (money) for another (food).

    • @OneEyedJack1970 really, best you got?

@John Kurtz I generally find the facts to be sufficient in and of themselves. If you think you can prove me wrong, feel free to do so.

    • In the original exchange, only illiterates would state there was a quid pro quo…..obviously there was no talk with Ukraine on this item, all internal concerns over corruption….

    • @OneEyedJack1970 You are playing with semantics. The definition of Quid pro quo is an advantage gained or expected in exchange for a favor so it not something like buying goods at a store as that is deemed an equal and fair exchange of money for whatever you are buying. Furthermore quid pro quo isn’t necessary for the July 25 call to violate election laws as they state clearly any soliciting of a foreign entity into the election process is unlawful. No quid pro quo needed.

  5. Trump probably started beating Mulvaney with a rolled up newspaper whenever he walked back into the Oval Office.😂

    • Or more appropriately he might Toss him a PAPER TOWEL (remember Puerto Rico!)

    • David J – Stormy taught president Pisstwat his technique for beating his minions into submission.

    • Trump can dodge around this just like everything else. It is all just part of the attempt to make it look like it is a normal way to investigate corruption and that’s exactly how Trump will spin this too. He has said countless times that the constitution says as president he can do whatever he wants. And he believes he is allowed he clearly has no grasp of the constitution.

  6. Mulvaney has Giuliani disease. He can’t keep his pie-hole shut..

Secretary of energy is resigning. One more rat jumping off the sinking ship. 🌊 🚢 🐀

  8. Doubt President Orange Tantrum knows even the meaning of “QUID PRO QUO”.

  9. Just watched Mulvaney commit ritual suicide on national TV.

    Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. 😂

Trump doesn’t have the courage to do it in person.

      It’ll be by tweet. 😂😂😂

  10. Not only did he admit a quid pro quo, he doubled down on it.

“Mulvaney was just the _covfefe_ boy”

  12. Damn trump. Again, he and his administration are trying to tell people “not to believe what you see and hear, just what I tell you.”

  13. Mulvaney sings: “Opps, I did it again. So shake it off, shake it off.”

  14. And, Mulvaney is the next one to be fired on Twitter. Tomorrow’s headlines.

    • I thought Rick Perry is the first to go…but Mulvaney will soon follow

    • … All people are disposable drones to Orange Julius…

    • That will make Trump his own Chief of Staff. Not really news since he doesn’t listen to anyone.

    • @THE PHANTOM Why not? He’s already his own press secretary, commander in chief, attorney general (aka Bill Barr)…I wonder how he’s gonna feel when he’s cleaning toilets at Rikers?

  15. Trump just said he has confidence in Mulvaney, that starts the countdown to that person getting fired.

    • Nobody cars who trump fires, he has zero standing, a criminal, orange jumpsuit just waiting for him!! Trump LIES that he never saw it, welll trump you’ll never see IT coming with lighting as you’re dragged out in orange from the WH.

Suomy Nona I think you’re missing my point. I don’t like Biden because Trump can beat him. If given the choice between voting for Trump and voting for a rabid parakeet, I would pick the parakeet every time. I always have and always will think that not voting is the stupidest thing a progressive can do. Pick the farthest left candidate… even if it is a rabid parakeet. That being said, here’s hoping the lack of interest in Hillary woke the Democrats up a bit. We’ll see.

molson12oz i actually think the smartest one is probably Eric. He’s gone further with his education. But he does a horrible job on TV compared to DJTJ… which should be impossible, but…

  16. When he said we do that all the time he actually means lying.Guess who’s going to be fired. Why do trumps rallies sound like a protest.

  17. He doesn’t even know what quid pro quo means

  18. Sergio de Regules | October 17, 2019 at 9:04 PM | Reply

These idiots think it’s not quid pro quo if the words “quid pro quo” were not actually uttered. And the idiot in chief doesn’t even know what it means.

  19. These are, without a doubt, the most incompetent criminals, ever.

  20. Mulvaney has a face that many people would love to punch.
