    1. @Victoria Ladjadj Yep. I’m afraid she’s likely on borrowed time. He’ll wait until the spotlight is off of her before killing her. If she manages to keep herself in the spotlight, she may be safe. He knows there are certain people he has to be careful about killing lest he turn them into martyrs.

For the last 8 years kiev has been bombarding eastern ukrainians as a punitive measure for refusing to accept the puppet gov the US installed in 2013/2014.

For the last 8 years kiev has been committing this atrocity against eastern ukrainains and I have no reason to believe that anything has changed.

This is ukro-nazi military bombarding its own citizens the same as they have done the last 8 years.

Where was her concern the last 8 years for eastern ukrainians being bombed by kiev?

All she had to do was get on a train to Rostov On Don and see for herself, she could have easliy written a report about it and it woudl have gotten broadcast.
But instead she chose to make a spectacle of herself.

She wants to claim that there is no ‘free speech’ in Russia, but here she is giving an interview shortly after being charged with treason.
How often does someone who has just been released given a press conference immediately? Very rarely to never.

    3. She contributed to the zombificarion and subjugation of her population. One good deed after doing what she did as long as she did doesn’t swat it for me, sorry

    2. @Hamid , so much BS in your little confused head ! You just sound ridiculous. Afraid of powerful and intelligent women MUCH ?

    1. It would be beneficial if more people did speak up, especially those like her who can protest in front of a large and captive audience. However, the Russians who are fully believing the “news” put out by Russian State tv (RT) are likely as latched onto putin’s narrative as Fox viewers are to Tucker’s. Now, imagine if the only news source available for Americans was Faux Noise. We can see how difficult it is to persuade a Foxer that they might have been fed misinformation; People who like Tucker aren’t even open to the possibility that something he tells them might not be factual. It appears that there are plenty of Russians like the mother of this lady in this video. Her mother knows she works in the news industry and still won’t believe her. The majority of Russians probably think Russia invading Urkraine is a conspiracy theory. With little to no alternative to the narrative of Putin, it seems amazing so many have been protesting, and even more so, considering the 15 year prison sentence. With all of this, I personally think it’s a lot to ask Russian civilians to protest publically as it puts themselves and their families at physical, financial and societal risk. That’s a big, big ask. From watching a documentary years ago that compared the differences between prisons in the US, various EU countries and Russia, prisons in Russia make prisons in the US look like pre-school. The people openly protesting in Russia have an incredible amount of courage.

  1. After enduring 14 hrs of interrogation and now her family at stake. It’s truly a sacrifice for her to tell the truth to Russians.
May she be protected and her family.

    3. BIAS Twitter, Google, Facebook – will they ruin the 2024 election as well ? Undeniably proven to intentionally sway millions of votes toward Scummy Biden using dangerous misinformation

    4. @Lord Inquisitor A hall monitor is someone used in US public schools to patrol the hallways of the schools to literally monitor and keep an eye on what students are doing. They are there to keep order – and to stop students found in the halls during class sessions to find out why they are not in class. Students are required to get a pass from their teachers if they need to be outside the classroom for any reason during a class period, such as for going to the restroom, or being sent to the principal’s office for some reason. If the student does not have a pass, the hall monitor drags them to the principal’s office, and they get in trouble for (at minimum) cutting class.

The implication of calling someone a hall monitor like this is saying that they are being controlling and petty.

    1. She was pretty high up in Putin’s propaganda machine spreading hate for last decade.
Now she’s fleeing this sinking ship.
      Better than nothing – yes.
      Role model – no.

    2. @Ani C Used Critical Thinking… is not that hard. Vladimir is like an elephant; he will not forget.

    3. @Alex Good point. I’m thinking her bit on Chechnya play a big role in mustering the fortitude to act. Thinking of Private Timothy Upham, in Private Ryan, …Most have a straw till the camelback breaks… Some don’t.

    4. @franciso peralta I totally get that, but I was referring to the fact that they could have detained her and made her life more miserable if they wanted.

  2. Doing what’s right isn’t always easy. But that doesn’t make it any less right. Thank you to this heroine for underscoring the point.

    1. She has been peddling Putin’s lies for years to the Russian people. She finally rebelled just because she has an Ukrainian father.

  3. You and your brave action inspired a lot of people including me. I am telling your story to my friends and my family members, showing them that even being brainwashed outside, we should still keep a clear conscience inside. May god bless and protect you!

  4. To bad, this woman doesn’t know, how much she is praised for her amazing courages coup. She is a true hero. Salute!

    1. Oh, I think she realises that now. I can only imagine how many messages she has now received since getting out. She is truly an inspiration for many people to go out there and try and do the same thing. So no pressure I guess. Lol

  5. Some people understand the responsibility that being a journalist and a decent human being requires even when it comes at detriment of personal safety and comfort.
We need more people like her.

    2. @Demitrilinon we definitely are, and yet, still I think there is so much wrong here.
I’m semi-poor, living in Canada, and I feel almost guilty for being upset with the world and my country.

The whole global paradigm for government favors corruption. EVERYWHERE, is a shitshow in modern times.

    3. @ThunderAppeal have you like… watched anything from the warzone?

Have you seen the clear airstrike on children.
You’re probably just a Russian in a troll farm… just doing his job.

Man… I’m so sorry for what Putin is doing to your country. I hope you don’t have to keep pushing this bs for long. I’m sure it hurts.

    4. @JaydragonM Did you not see the part where I said ‘for the past 8 years’.

Is that not a clear enough indicator for you that I’ve actually been watching this for the last 8 years, not the last few months like you have.

  6. This amazing woman has no idea how her action, born from an inner knowing that she can no longer do nothing, has effected ripples all across the globe. With that one act, she spoke for all the Russians who are against the war but are too afraid to act, and she also reminded the world that the enemy is indeed not Russia but a self-gratifying, insane president. Thank you, Marina Ovsyannikova. Your name will be held high for a long time to come, and we pray that you will not be dealt the severity of the repressive Russian law.

    1. Yeah, it was refreshing and inspiring to see. She’s a modern hero no doubt about that. There are many russians who against dictator and his ridiculous actions!

    2. Imagine if her action makes cascade events. If she even would meet any more punishment, believe another good being she meets he reject to punish her. Etc.
She is one of those few first hard steps. More to come. When enough people go good way, rest ones stop doing bad, early just because wont like to be bad or different, later they maybe understand too.
      Good luck.

    3. @Frank R She was an editor for 8 years, she was ok with constant propaganda! Russian “news” are pre recorded. Video with her “protest” was aired on purpose- to get support from the West, to weaken sanctions, to show that “not everyone in Russia supports Putin” It is a lie, about 80 of them supports this war. There is no difference between Putin and his people

    4. Let’s be absolutely clear on this because it is of immense importance.

This woman did the right thing and she should be honoured for that. But fear of harm does not absolve other Russians of the responsibility to follow suit. Because every national leader, no matter how appointed, can only remain in that position so long as the people of his country allow it. And for that reason, every vile act perpetrated by that leader is done *in their name*, and they must bear all of the responsibility for it.

It’s too bad when responsibility for war crimes lands in your doorstep, and all you did was cast a vote or fail to cast a vote, and otherwise keep out of the way. But when it lands there it’s still yours, and your life is forfeit until you have discharged that responsibility.

    1. You really think, that something threatens her here in Russia for what she’s done? It’ll be not significant fine. That’s all.

    2. @Дмитрий Глухов What she’s done is forbiden in your country and you know it so why are you surprised about are reactions? Do you not know that according to russian law, you can go to jail for up to 15 years for “saying a lie” regarding the war? Which means anything that goes against official cenzored version (you have an official goverment department for cenzorship that bans and sanctions everyone who doesnt say what they want). Every day 100s of people in your country are being arrested for peacefully protesting against the war. Do you not know that? I mean you have to know that right? So kind of makes one wonder why do you come here, knowing all that and try to down play it?

    3. All she had done is a good prepared show for naive western people. And unfortunately so many people were caught on the hook 🤦

  7. It’s wonderful that she’s getting so much attention around the world, but I’m worried the people who it was intended for and who need to see it never will get the message.

  8. She is brave example for all Russians, hope her action made sleepy citizens wake up. no war, no Putin, no dictator, 🇺🇦🙌🏼🇷🇺

  9. So proud of her for doing this. She makes others brave in continuing to share this message.
    Praying God keeps her safe.

  10. This woman is braver than many people will ever understand. I am so very proud of you, my sister. Peace to you!
    Slava Ukraini!!!

  11. What a brave woman Marina is, people like her give me some hope for humanity in this awful time. The fact she has first hand experience growing up in Cechyna makes this even more powerful. It makes me so glad I live where I do but sad that people have to endure this and stand up for things I take for granted.

    1. Her having experienced it herself at a very young age during the war in Chechnya makes what she did really profound. It’s a full circle which led up to what’s happening today. It shows how deep an impression it made on her and what she learned from it.

Even though she views Russia from the (propaganda) inside and cannot take the distance we have to look at it, certain lines have been crossed which are unacceptable for her. Not by political choice, but through life’s experience.

That makes it ever so more powerfull, like growing up in a sect and at a certain point realizing that something is just wrong, despite all the brainwashing.

She deserves the respect of the whole world for taking that chance. And Putin really needs to do some honest selfreflection on what he has really been doing all his life and for what. Does he really hate children that much? What have they done to him to deserve that or is he jealous of their youth and they are just an easy target. How despicable can you be as a human being?

I hope she can stay safe or be able to escape that derranged monster to a safer area.
