    1. Mate recover yourself , everything is within , u not on a mdfoking spinning ball ⚽️. And ‘planets’ are not material stuff u can step on . The moon might be the only thing close to a solid state and might not even B natural but designed or rEdesigned . Wake up .

  5. US James Webb is a newer a Space Telescopes technology.
    – The type of the telescope China🇨🇳 using is an *outdated technology.* It can receive lots of noises.

    2. Do you mean the FAST telescope? FAST is a radio telescope, completely different to Webb but still just as useful

  12. When you get a new car and someone keys it. But you can’t fix it. My heart would of stopped if I had been working on Webb for 2 decades and a micrometeoroid hit it. Glad it can still operate.

    1. They actually engineered for it. They can adjust the mirrors to account for dings and scratches… it’s nuts plnning that went into this thing… as long as it’s not too great ding!

  15. So far it’s only showing bright stars, a little closer than usual. I want to see other Planets closer up. Not to impressed at this point. But looking forward to the 12th.

    1. JWST isn’t going to be showing us high resolution images of exoplanets unfortunately. It will be able to analyse atmospheric composition (in some cases). Unfortunately exoplanets are just to far away with our current technology to be able to image directly.

      From NASA “Webb will also carry coronagraphs to enable direct imaging of exoplanets near bright stars. The image of an exoplanet would just be a spot, not a grand panorama, but by studying that spot, we can learn a great deal about it”.

      There is a proposal for using the sun as a giants lens which would allow enough magnification to directly image exoplanets, Solar Gravitational Lens Telescope. It involves sending craft to an appropriate focal point at around 540 au distance from the sun. For reference Voyager 1 and 2 are just over 156 and 130 au respectively from the sun, so it’s quite a trek to get something out to that distance. Anyway don’t hold your breath waiting for close ups of exoplanets, JWST just isn’t capable of that, it could however identify candidates planets that we would want to take a closer look at.

Been waiting years for this following along as it arrived in los Angeles and left to europe for launch on dec 24 2021 the story goes back further but thats when i truly began rooting for it everything was coming together finally after decades of hard work no doubt i cant wait i have no idea what to expect hoping to get my mind blown.
