If you want to use the Abraham card, he was born in Iraq, the Pope visited his birthplace a few years ago. Abraham is revered to Muslims and Christians as well. Didn’t see any of your chosen people on that visit. Iraq has a town named after Ezra the Scribe. His tomb is there too. If you would just make a just peace with the Palestinians, you would be able to visit and pray at so many holy sites in the “Arab” world.

Two mistakes had happened that has brought upside-downs to the Israeli Nation. Even here in Northern Ireland, peace – imperfect, but peace – was eventually found 25 years ago, and people have tried hard ever since to get along together. Low level terrorism lingers in the background, but things are nothing like what they once were.
While absolutely rejecting the acts of the terrorists Hamas – terrorists who are just as happy to murder Palestinians who object to them, or try to stop their terrorism – Israel’s attacks on Palestinians and continual encroachment and illegal settlements are deplorable, and roundly internationally condemned.
When you have a place – the island of Ireland – that itself battled terrorism for decades, and saw thousands of people murdered by terrorists, constantly condemn your actions and criticise what you’re doing, you should ask yourself if what you’re doing is right.
By their actions, the Israelis are wrong, wrong, wrong, and are only ensuring that the violence and terrorism will continue. I’m *not* for a *second* condoning terrorism or Hamas – but the Israeli approach is just ensuring that peace is as far away as ever. Something which a significant amount of Israelis clearly recognise in recent years, such is the mounting civil unrest against the punitive crushing of Palestinians, which has brought international condemnation from near and far – including, constantly, my home country, the Republic of Ireland.
The chances Bibi will rebuild the village are slim. He always places international opinion before national security.
