New GA Voting Law Gives Partisan Lawmakers Power Over Election Officials | Deadline | MSNBC

  1. What good is the right to vote when lawmakers can overturn an election for the candidate of their choice? Hmm?

    1. @Mario N. Are you saying if such law was in effect for the last election, Biden would’ve still rightfully won? Have you heard the call between the former president and Raffensperger, the election official? Do you not think having one party oversee the election process introduces serious potential for a lot of BS?

    2. @Coldwynn Frost that every time some one does something that people don’t like the first thing they blame it on is race

    3. @goplay777 quickly!!!! just like Trump got his hearings in court in a matter of a week or so before Biden was sworn in to try and steal the election and how he fired the politicians, fbi director and a slew of others because they didn’t agree with him and had the integrity to speak the truth

    4. @J S Too many pronouns. Let’s roughly identify the groups you’re talking about. If people don’t like what is being done … what do they do?

  2. The GOP has gotten so out of control to the extreme far right in they’re not American anymore.

    1. @J what they are doing is the exact opposite of integrity They are re making the rules of the game so that THEY can CHANGE or OVERTURN any future election result that isn’t what THEY ( NOT WE ) CHOOSE!! How STUPID are you guys !??? It just gets worse every argument u come up with. The ignorance is staggering!!!

    2. You’ve got that right. They’re shooting themselves in the foot… coz so many independents are registering and voting Democrat because of what they’re doing. Biden didn’t WIN the election as much as trump LOST it. Same with Ossoff and Warnock in Georgia.

    3. @Minute Meditations By asking you to get an ID to prove citizenship? We should all drive and buy guns without an ID also then?

    4. @MK Self – I guess you completely forget how much lamestream media and the dems tried so hard to cancel 4th of July last year and literally call everything that has to do with American history “racist” when Trump was president, simply bc he was 100% America First

    1. @Mario N. . Not legal. It violates the 14th and 15th amendments. And believe it or not it restricts white voters as well. Making rushed laws by emotions will always backfire.

    2. @Mario N. Sure, why not make it impossible for anyone to vote? Then there is no debate about integrity, the government officials can just decide themselves. Great right?

    3. @Mario N. how is making it illegal to give someone water securing the integrity of the vote? How is making it illegal to vote on Sunday securing the integrity of the vote? YOU are not “sense-making”

    4. @Mario N.
Is it legal to just toss out legally cast votes because the legislature doesn’t want one candidate to win?

  3. It’s a statewide Coup. They can replace elected officials??? WTF! They just enacted laws that allow them to say, we don’t like those results so they won’t count!

    1. Make two lists – 1)- Ways to improve election security, and 2)- Ways to suppress votes. Then compare them to what Republicans are doing.

It’s crystal clear what they’re doing. It’s a vicious cycle. The less popular support they have, the more they try to suppress. There’s always an election around the corner, so they never want to risk losing by trying “radical” ideas like actually reaching out to voters when they can use the tried-and-true method of suppressing liberal votes – which means specifically targeting minorities who live in urban areas, which tend to vote Democrat. They might win that way, but they’re still outnumbered, so they keep suppressing votes.

    2. @J Groovy It is so criminal what they are doing. In a poll 90% of voters in Georgia do not agree with what they have done. They are no longer even trying to pretend to represent those that placed them in the seats that they hold. They are overthrowing the will of the people. We need to stop the GOP because they are dangerous. I thought all this madness would stop after the events of Jan 6. What now?

    3. @MrEkzotic Obviously you are just a troll. I can not convince someone that does not want to see the truth. Move on

    4. @Susan Bradley-Boartfield This is an underappreciated reply. Sure one can say slippery slope induction, but history says otherwise when in the context of accumulating power. Well done.

    5. @MrEkzotic Are you saying every American, in practice, have always had equal rights since … name your date.

    1. @Google User what country are you voting in? You already have to show ID when you vote. You also have to register to vote. Stop believing the lies.

    2. @Google User we’ve already settled the voter ID argument & its alREADY required so your point is moot. They are literally revising the LAWS so that they can change the OUTCOME of a free and fair election if they DO NOT LIKE THE RESULT. That is tyranny. Not “integrity”. And u can argue till your face turns as red as your Nazi loyalties. But you will NEVER no matter HOW long you ramble on make what they did & are STILL doing OK. Period.

    3. @Byron Mist I never had to show any ID..? Did you? I did have to register online but that had no physical verification.

The precinct here only confirms registration details verbally. Not saying it’s like that everywhere. Plus I thought mail in ballots only required a signature?

  4. One aspect of being able to trust the outcome of elections is trust that the people administering them value the sanctity of the process.

    1. Which is ensured by existing laws and improved by this law. Do you think differently? IF YES, WHICH PORTION OF THE LAW IS IN YOUR OPINION ILLEGAL OR RACIST OR DISADVANTAGING MINORITY VOTERS?

    3. Whatever just make sure you don’t give anybody any food and water that’s been waiting in line or I will call the police

    4. @Coldwynn Frost Agreed 100%! Seriously. If we can just print off 1.9T then why do they need our $30 for a drivers license?

I also agree – the water part is the only stingy aspect here. Lett’em have a drink!

Just show that you are a citizen.. Why is that a problem?

  5. JESUS CHRIST WILL GIVE WATER TO HIS CHILDREN! LETS SEE YOU STOP HIM! Evil will always lose to good!!!! Good people of Georgia VOTE OUT THESE EVIL POLITICIANS!

    1. When voters standing in line on election day in the rain open their mouths to accept the drink from heaven, 45 & the GOP will be out there, red faced and shaking their fists at the sky. Kemp hasn’t figured out a way for his cops to lock up God.

  6. Brad Rathless Burger should run for Governor. He probably represents Georgia’s best chance to get some swing votes in Georgia.

  7. Water is now an illegal substance and knocking on Doors by an elected official is a felony in Georgia. Kemp says how I voted in November is now illegal. WTH

  8. Keep this news in the cycle. This is a money maker for you. It’s needed for change to happen.

    1. Georgia wants to remove Raffensperger. He is useless and possibly is hiding his own illegal activity.

    2. @Deanna Delmar Don’t. Make sure you take care of yourself and your loved ones first. I … had an experience.

  9. This will just make us fight harder to keep Republicans out of office 👍💙. Stay strong 💪 Georgia 💙
