Dr. Jeremy Faust joins NBC’s Joshua Johnson to discuss the results of his new research surrounding the impact of Covid-19 on young adults. Dr. Faust talked about why people between the ages of 25 and 45 years old saw the highest increase in deaths above the normal baseline and how they can change their behavior to stay safe until receiving the Covid-19 vaccine. “You are at risk no matter what your age is,” Dr. Faust said.» Subscribe to MSNBC:

    1. @Verruca imagine willfully taking your own civil rights away for some minute security. Please stay inside if your scared the rest of us will be living our lives.

    2. It reminds me of how our grandparents always kept money in cash because they feared bank runs, or hoarded because ‘you never know if you need it in the future.’ Add on climate grief and living through two global recessions, and I bet a lot of people in my generation will be less likely to buy houses, have kids, feel and just generally feel less economically secure than other generations. Also makes me think about what weird, germophobic habits we’ll take on that will drive our kids and grandkids absolutely batty.

    1. @Peterbilt Pilot covid is way different than the flu when will you people understand that, you can’t just go to work or school like you can with the flu or cold, covid is way more deadly than those two and has lingering health issues

    2. @psycobleach46 tullis if you get pneumonia from influenza complications or die from influenza then the only difference is that covid is just a bad flu, which it is. I’ve had close to 10 coworkers that tested positive for covid and only one had issues with loss of taste for a few weeks. There are severe cases with every virus, people have severe complications with chicken pox, a teen died at our local high school two years ago after getting the common flu. The media is focusing on the severe or rare cases of covid for a reason, create fear and get more power

    3. @Peterbilt Pilot covid is NOT the flu, not even in the same family, covid does more damage to you than the flu moron. Well, I knew people too that had covid and they died from it. Yup you can die from any virus but you don’t have the deaths like we have had with covid so your comparison is lame.
They are NOT focusing on the severe or rare cases, 300,000 dead is NOT rare. You are so stupid to think this is about pushing fear, This is telling people how severe and dangerous covid is, for people NOT to be complacent when it comes to protection.

    4. @Peterbilt Pilot aww, looks like you can’t take the FACTS so you come back with a lame slam. My mental health is just fine.

    1. young adults need learn how act first before waiting last minute problems happen to you end up badly for you…you all need act like me ..i think way ahead of the curve …not wait the last minute for things like this

  1. Shouldn’t someone be talking about how many of these deaths in this age group are attributed to covid-19 verses from mental health?

    1. @psycobleach46 tullis Yeah, but the chart he’s showing is showing deaths overall in the age group. That isn’t a chart on covid19 deaths.

    2. gee, i wonder if there’s some like, global event that could have negatively effected an entire generation’s mental health… hmmm…

    3. @Steve Hahn if you survive covid and you have health issues caused from covid then yes it will be a cormobidity

    1. At Pro-Trump Georgia Rally, Lawyer Lin Wood Says Don’t Vote for GOP Senators in ‘Rigged’ Runoffs: ‘They’ve Not Earned It’ George republicans-“don’t vote for the republicans on the Jan 5 run off , don’t give these republicans candidates your votes” this is the lawyer heads of the Republicans saying this maybe listen? The election 🗳 has been decided already

  2. The economic and mental impact on young people is going to set them back years. So many entry level jobs have vanished.

  3. Was that a vaccine commercial, or an opioid one, …??
Mmmmm..don’t know………Must be results of our “Knowledge deficit”

  4. They want to diminish the effect of protests and blame it on people shopping an hour later as if the screaming and close contact did not affect it.

  5. completely ignoring metabolic health. Vitamin D and Metabolic health are huge factors and are completely ignored. Sad and stupid.

    1. Im interested in more info about what you mentioned . Any recommendations or links would be appreciated. Thanks. !

  7. Anchor: All I can think that was different was the protests

What about the confounding due to the economy going down the gutter? unemployment rates skyrocketing? Food insecurity increasing several fold? businesses/recreation spaces/gyms being closed? all of this must have some effect on peoples health…

*yes mr. msnbc dude, everything else has been unchanged except for the fact that we had protests…*

    1. Mister S it has already been proven that the protests have NOT caused spikes in covid, plus those protests were months ago this current surge in covid has been recent so there is NO connection anyone with a brain can see that

  8. These two Demons doing their best to scare some people about virus. No mask no testing no vaccine no pandemic no social distance 🇯🇲

    1. Whoa, do you work for a funeral home or something? Why do you want people to die?

Oh, you made your account: Joined Dec 17, 2020

  9. What an insane comment thread, full of COVID hoaxters. I am concerned about the nation’s future with such idiocy abounding.

  10. COVID 19 isn’t causing this. Its the tyrannical lockdowns which the media keeps pushing for in spite of all reason that is causing this. And I dont buy that nonsense about death rates lowering during the protests. That is nonsense,

    1. Yeah…. the government telling you not to spread the virus is causing the virus…. are you mentally challenged? Like for real?

    2. @Gitche Manitou 5,000 more people died. There is no indicator that COVID itself is the cause. There are many other possible explanations: suicides, stress, drug overdoses, murder etc. the murder rate in some places has risen astronomically due to the advocation from really malevolent people that the police be defended in places like Minnesota, New York and Chicago.

    3. @Prensa Amarillista ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You changed your reply to include the well recorded suicide numbers that are well documented because those cases are open and shut— and you think you can use those to slur the covid numbers? Okay then—- by that logic, there is no evidence Trump got any votes at all. Biden got more votes in every state. Know how I know, most of the Trump ballots were fake. After all Biden got more votes overall. And if you look at the Russian hacking, they could’ve gotten our voting machines. So with those loose and unconnected things, I can determine, Trump isn’t even a real president.

    4. @Gitche Manitou
It’s already well proven there are so many
misdiagnosis of covid and doctors are receiving monetary compensation to diagnose anything as covid. It’s all a sham and if you ask for a source you are only proving you don’t research or know what’s going on.
