Yeah universal health care guarantees if you are old you will be allowed to die in filth, and without family or medical care. Canada letting thousands of elderly to die this way is nothing to boast about. 80 percent of deaths in Canada is nursing homes, higher than ANY other country. Shameful

This topic isn’t about private nursing homes, which, other than a few specific services, are not covered under Canada’s universal health care. Health care, as well as nursing homes, are also provincially regulated, not federally. But to offer you a bit of validation regarding nursing homes, Canadian provinces were actually reporting all of the nursing home covid deaths, which the high numbers were out of private homes in 2 provinces in particular. Shameful that this would happen anywhere, let alone the neglect and abuse of elders that has been reported on for years to no avail.
