    1. @Kevin Hudson This is not the first time I heard. “If the world countries leaders are not going to find a solution to crack down CCP corrupted leader, this will happen again”. CCP leaders are all old sickmen living in their own isolated world.
In 2017, china detained a Taiwanese Lee Ming-che, his wife was sad, worry and felt helpless like Michael’s wife, china is doing the same to Canadian, and Australian now. Lee is still in jail.

    2. 1. Lee Ming-che is a Taiwanese, freedom of express, wrote few messages about democracy to his friend in china, detained by Chinese authorities in late March 2017. After Lee entered China from Macao, he lost the ability to directly contact his family. There have been calls for his immediate release by human rights activists around the world. Lee is a former NGO employee.

    3. 2. Lee’s wife, Lee Ching-yu, called on Beijing to immediately release him, and to clarify the charges brought against him and ensure his rights. In an effort to find her husband, Lee Ching-yu booked a flight from Taiwan to China on 10 April, however she has been banned from entering China by its Ministry of Public Security.

    4. 3. On September 2017, Lee Ming-che pleaded guilty to “subverting state power” in a court in Hunan. His wife and supporters say his confession was forced. Since his conviction he has been incarcerated in Chishan Prison.

    5. 4. In 2020 the Rescue Lee Ming-che Team held an exhibition in Taipei which featured 365 letters written to Lee Ming-che, the Team also organized a two week long lecture series on Lee’s case and the general human rights situation in China. Wikipedia

    3. @Paul Bal Canada and China both are countries of the rule of law. Hearing from somewhere and nowhere, it’s said that the Chinese government detained those Canadians under the extradition treaty of the criminal was at the request of the People’s Republic of North Korea. Those adults were arrested due to the violation of the law of the People’s Republic of North Korea relating to prostitution which happened in Taiwan, the crime committed may face the death penalty. They are suspected to have received sexual service and which violated the laws of the People’s Republic of North Korea. The Chinese government is a country that respects the rule of law so that the China Government cannot interfere the legal processing, and they have the independent judiciary. Therefore, there is no further information to be provided.
China is a country of the rule of law and had signed the extradition treaty with the People’s Republic of North Korea. Therefor Chinese Government cannot interfere the legal processing, and they have the independent judiciary so that legal processing is on its way to extradition.

  5. What was this family thinking? The chances of an ENTIRE country (Canada) reversing its policy is highly unlikely. The lesson learned from this so far is:

    – Stop traveling to China
    – Stop Buying”MadeInChina”

  6. well done China nice play..Canadian government has made the Canada to the laughing stock of the world. how can you kidnap a foreign national and do not expect retaliation? Abduction of Business woman who has not Committed any crime.. just to please USA. is so unethical

    1. They have evidence that she knew about the microchips they were putting in their phones to collect data like your bank account passwords. Thye have evidence that she had involvement in the ploy.

  7. If your stuck in China like the two Michaels, Justin Trudeau will leave you there. That’s how bad it is and the lack of leadership from Justin Trudeau to bring them home. Canada needs a new PM and get rid of this crackhead.

  10. Tell Trudeau to put the Chinese lady in a maximum security Canadian prison. Her rich daddy would put pressure on the Chinese government to get her back on house arrest. Tell them to release the two Michaels and we will comply.
