the numbers will skyrocket before the end of the month. Testing is going down on the “reopen” states to hold back the numbers.
It’s like my kids putting their hands over their eyes so they could be invisible.
My poster child for that is Minnesota. Their cases/M rate has been accelerating for weeks, and just this past Friday they reopened industrial and office sectors. Apparently they are not making it mandatory to wear masks. Faceplant 🙁 So apparently they want to turn the Minneapolis-St.Paul area into the next NYC type runaway outbreak.
They won’t be able to hold back the death count.

@Adam Smith NO ONE is saying that the masks are perfect – but if everyone wears them, it cuts down greatly on droplet transmission. That means slower spread, fewer sick, fewer dead. Unless you think those are not good things? FFFS.

Mark my words, every single state in the U.S. will reopen their economy by the end of May regardless of how many COVID-19 cases or deaths there are in any particular state. Don’t matter if it’s a Republican or Democrat run state. Public schools nationwide will reopen in the Fall. How do I know this? Is it because Trump is parroting this during his White House press briefings? No. It’s because Bill Gates said to shut down the nation for 6 to 10 weeks then reopen the economy by the end of May 2020 and then reopen public schools in the Fall.
Trump has been pretty inconsistent regarding what he was saying about COVID-19 from the start of the pandemic until recently, ranging from complete denial to downplaying the severity of it to trying to empathize with those who lost loved ones from COVID-19. However, just yesterday, he was very specific about reopening the economy up by May and reopening public schools in the Fall, which is exactly what Bill Gates has been saying for months.
And my point is, this isn’t just Trump. If it was just the Donald, that wouldn’t be shocking at all and I wouldn’t care less. But this is what raised a red flag for me. It’s not just Republican governors, but also Democrat governors, who aren’t required to listen to Trump regarding when to reopen, are now talking about reopening their states by the end of this month. A month ago these same governors were talking as if there was no end in sight, but for some unexplainable reason, they are now much more optimistic despite a rise in cases and deaths during that same time period.
Currently, there are only two states with stay-at-home orders that don’t expire by May 31, 2020, which are California and Virginia. California has no set end date to their stay-at-home order. However, the governor of California has recently stated he’s days away from lifting some of the restrictions of his stay-at-home order, while yesterday he announced the reopening of retailers such as florists, book shops and clothing stores.
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam doesn’t appear to be getting with Bill Gates’ program as his stay-at-home order expires on June 10th. However, one of his other executive orders expires on May 14th, which will then allow crowds of more than 10 people, the reopening of retailers such as personal care, entertainment and recreation businesses–so I don’t see why he won’t also end the stay-at-home orders around this time as well. It should also be noted that Trump singled out Governor Northam yesterday and pressured him regarding the reopening of the economy.
You need to talk about mortality rates, because we are getting “don’t test, don’t tell” in too many states.
The way to keep down the numbers: Don’t test and don’t report deaths as Covid-19 related.
They’re already being forced to do that…not report the ACTUAL numbers in states like Florida! There is a report with that states ME railing against that saying just that!
