Obama returns to Biden White House to promote Affordable Care Act

Former President Barack Obama is returning to the White House Tuesday for the first time since he left office to promote his signature health care legislation that President Joe Biden wants to build on.

Biden is expected to announce new actions to improve the 2010 Affordable Care Act.

Democrats hoped to make permanent an expansion of the insurance subsidies included in a coronavirus relief package and close the Medicaid coverage gap in states that have not expanded Medicaid. But those proposals were part of the Build Back Better legislation that stalled in the Senate.
