In fact, if you read some of the posts on this site, they have actually brainwashed people into believing Trump is a “Putin puppet” and they want you to ignore the FACT that the Russians actually did collude with the Clinton campaign by providing the fake dossier paid for by the Clinton campaign which provided the ‘so-called dirt’ on Trump. If Trump was working with Putin, why would they provide ‘so-called dirt’ on HIM?? And, why didn’t they provide any ‘dirt’ on HRC? FACT: Sanctions on Russia are tougher now than during the Obama administration. FACT: Trump had NEVER spoken or met Putin prior to being elected.
They won’t explain it so I will: FACT: Leading up to the 2016 election, Russia set up some fake Facebook accounts and posted stories; some that supported Trump and some against and some that supported Clinton and some against her. FACT: There is ABSOLUTELY NO evidence that ANYONE changed their vote based on reading some fake story posted on Facebook! FACT: Russia NEVER hacked into the voting machines and changed people’s votes. FACT: The Congressional findings only showed that Paul Manafort had significant Russian contacts, that he had prior to joining the Trump campaign and he was fired by Trump soon after it was found out that he had some illegal past. FACT: Neither Trump or ANYONE in his campaign actually solicited or received ANY information from ANY Russian. FACT: The FBI & CIA, working with the Obama Administration indeed attempted to ‘set up’ people in the Trump Administration in attempting to arrange a meeting with the Russian woman and some undercover agents. FACT: The Congressional findings confirmed once again what the Mueller Report stated: NO COLLUSION!!
FACT: So, the only thing Russia is guilty of is ‘attempting’ to possibly influence a few people that happen to see the fake Facebook stories and Trump and his campaign have NEVER been found guilty of ANY collusion.
People need to do their own research and think for themselves because MSNBC will keep up with the misinformation because THEY HATE TRUMP!!

S, much of the Steele dossier, has proven factual. Much of it was “unconfirmed” because it was necessary to protect the sources who had to remain anonymous for protection. Steele was a British source. Russians didn’t just use social media, Manaforte also provided polling data to Russian operatives, and they did manage to penetrate certain state voter rolls. If you want to examine “conspiracy theories” would the government reveal that a foreign government has altered voter rolls or altered the outcome? Would it allow it to undermine the people’s confidence in the elections process? There has been no investigation into Trump’s actual ties ties to Russia, no investigations into his financial exposure, and monetary obligations. It is public record that Trump waived a more than $654 million fine for Deutsche Bank. Trump owed Deutsche Bank between $150-$330 million in loans.
You know you are no longer in a democracy when one person can do whatever they like without any consequence where nobody else can, nor would any President before them. Trump makes Nixon look like a saint.
@HOWARD BOYD I checked that and what would happen if a stimulus check was more Republican instead of Democrat based. It seems NEITHER is the correct answer. If the Senate is in recess, regardless of who has the majority that’s a problem. I also checked that Trump has emergency funds and can allocate it without the permission of the Senate for the benefit of Americans in dire need. Hassle your Mayor and/or Governor.
@Enrique Ordaz thanks for subtle implications that I am…well..not so bright. However, what you said is not that different from I said. The central government is federalized (hence they are called federal government). Then there are state governments that have powers not expressly delegated to the federal government. Those are true democratic elections. Senators and representatives run state in state elections, then are part of the legislative part of the federal government (albeit not a very effective part).😊 At any rate we do not have a true democracy, although there are certainly democratic elements.

We are sinking more and more into an autocracy. It’s unbelievable that it has only taken less than 4 years to damage the fabric of our democracy so badly.
Not so unbelievable, really. Left wide open to it. Patriot Act accelerated it considerably, in its own fashion, but the complacency of success has dulled and distracted the general populace over time. All it takes is for one Autocrat to eviscerate every office of the land possible – since that’s a power he has – placing yes-men and lackeys into them, whose primary function is make sure the gears grind however slow necessary to prevent their branches of the system from functioning for the people – or for themselves, instead, if possible. Create disinformation across a platform only recently having gained massive momentum into the lives and minds of people everywhere in the world (internet at large, with social media partnering up), while ensuring full-time propaganda machines co-opt and distort any remaining legitimate reporting, and you’ve got yourself quite the cocktail.
It’s like a weird digital version of some mad doctor in one of those old insane asylum horror flicks, running around poking little needles into patients’ heads to see how they might jerk about – but this time the patients are doing it to themselves while the doctor directs them remotely via a little screen. A better option? : Get out and be a part of one’s community, if such a thing still exists anymore. Stop relying on the wizard in the screen, or some hero to come along and bail people out. Start relying on each-other, because, really, when it comes down to it, it’s one’s own community that really matters, up close and personal. Otherwise, it’s just a bunch of scared people hating on one-another and casting blame everywhere, with no one actually making any sincere or reasonable effort to do the right thing – just what they want to do, and that only. Who’d of known that a society consists of many people getting along willingly, without fear and coercion and constant blame-gaming, in order to be a society at all … except those who wish to use it for their own power and wealth grabs, of course.

The problem with everything you just said is that none of that is recorded as fact in anyplace that isn’t in league with the WH. That’s why when Barr takes those “facts” into court with him they all turn out to be less like facts and more like mush. The motivation is that he does not want anything released that will put him in a bad light nor anything that will show him as corrupt. He is now enforcing the suppression of information.
There is not rule book on a lot of what President Trump has done and gotten away with. There is an awful lot that needs to be looked at and addressed when he is voted out of office that will prevent a sitting president from getting away with everything that he has done. We have found the weaknesses in the Constitution that has endured for centuries. There need to be changes.
