Officer who killed woman in her home resigns

The Fort Worth police officer who fatally shot Atatiana Jefferson in her home has resigned, said interim Police Chief Ed Kraus. The officer was served a written administrative complaint, placed on detached duty and stripped of his badge and firearm, according to Kraus, who shared that the officer's name is Aaron Dean. If Dean had not resigned, he would have been fired for several policy violations including the department's use of force, de-escalation policies, and unprofessional conduct, Kraus said.

    1. @74kjohnson more than likely the gun was photographed as documentation. They probably seized it to prevent it from being left at the scene unattended (the owner was no longer able to secure it and there were no other parties capable of taking ownership of it). The gun could even be used against the officer in court believe it or not. DA’s and attorneys have a way with words.

    2. Fake news is spreading like wildfires. How convenient is it that it happened so quickly after Amber was sentenced? It’s because the Government wants to control you with Order out of Chaos. Research that! And You will never see the evidence.

    3. Robert Penney – I’m glad you and your unit are diligent and helpful. It’s unfortunately not always the case.
Like Doctors, there are truly amazing ones, awesome at their job, while truly caring for their patients. Then theirs the ones that leave instruments in people or cut off the wrong leg.
They all took the same oath, they all had extensive training. It’d just that some truly give a crap about the people they care for and don’t get numb to the cries of pain.

    4. That’s easy…”his pale white azz show color, he didn’t see a blonde doll.” Stop
acting like this is knew. A lot white police function and operate white
subpsychological white racist hate. It may be obvious must confrontation
with black and brown people but trust me it there.

    1. That’s just not enough anymore because clearly prison is not stopping them or even scaring them…..to take a picture of a gun and send it out already trying to blame the victim 😰

    1. He’s not gonna serve a lot of time if convicted. Cops get off easy. That’s been shown over and over again.

  1. everytime there is a payout to a victims family it should come out of the police’s pension fund not tax payers paying for police wrong doings

    1. I fully agree. No cop will change unless he knows it will negatively impact his pay. Every cop in that State needs a pay reduction to drive the point home that murder is a fucking crime no matter who is killing whom.

    1. @Fire Star I’m sorry you feel this way. I love and support black people just as much as I do other races, including mine. I don’t think your sub-human or anything. Are there people who think that? Unfortunately, there probably are. Am I one of those people? Absolutely not. I hoped this helps a little. <3

    2. @CKACKAJACKA I don’t mean any defense in this but You misunderstood they’re saying not all of them aren’t like and not that all of them aren’t taught to be racist NO! some are and some aren’t . hell! They don’t always have to be taught that to be raicist to turn out like this! . they said that because the one they were commented to made it seem like ALL of them are but some can be deferent . Racist equals mindless and Some are mindless we know that! But how is @Smiggy Balls being mindless sure maybe they’re trying to put up a front saying ” I’m not racist ” but if that was it they would have typed something so much WORSE or not commented at all! Especially if on YouTube they’re mostly can’t be punished for it! . Did you read all this! I hope you did RIGHT!? .

    3. @Smiggy Ballz hey you mostly seem like the alot LESS hate fulled one good For you! . I appreciate that and the fact that you your being honest with us and were reasonable enough . Honestly America was bullt on some level of racistim in in some ways . I don’t have anything against all Whites just only some of them and if I did it would be a even sadining and hateful existence then it is now you know? .

  2. It was a f*n welfare check. All he had to do was knock on the damn door. I wouldn’t call the police for anything anymore.

    1. @SnowmanYT
Well, if you say that’s the official police term for what this was supposed to be…I won’t argue about it. I have no connection to the force, so I can’t check this out.
However – for me – the word “welfare check” will always have the financial connotation first and foremost.

    2. How about community leaders whom you can call for reasons like this instead of the fucking pigs. Like the community watches but have designated people to call when theres a problem. Or something along those lines. Just trying to keep the pigs out and away from people.

    3. Beef Quirky
GOOD DECISION, don’t call them. With that mentality of yours they don’t need to be around you.

    4. @Mynighboirwolf u think everybody has their community’s number? i don’t even think there is anything like community leader in where i live and i don’t know any of my neighbors let alone having their numbers and its suburb area. He did the right thing, the problem lies with the police not the caller.

    5. very smart thinking👏🙄..u think he should have gone out and knocks his neighbor’s door at 2:30am in Texas? wow! i guess nothing can never go wrong…nobody would ever mistook him for an intruder and shot him dead right?

    1. You think one or two cases would stop the rest of these trigger happy pigs from killing innocent people but here we are again as they just don’t learn from other people’s mistakes!

    1. The government is owned by the NRA. You can’t have, “freedom,” AND Lobbying. We better get this corrupt administration out, BEFORE the election, or this type of incident won’t stop being commonplace

    2. @Ash Roskell You are aware that the democrat party dramatically overshadows the republicans when it comes to lobbying groups and platform donations, right? That’s a documented fact that’s not even debated by either side. No the government isn’t owned by the NRA, we can’t just go around making blanket statements like that and passing it off as factual information, that’s just stupid.

    1. @ThumbsUpMan I got the impression that the girls brother is a military man. Knowing many veterans through out my life, I do not see him forgiving this man.

    1. Gary York What you said is really disappointing, condemning someone only by their name is worthy of a Republican. LOL And do you think Christ would agree with you? Looking at the big picture we are all souls having a human experience. We are all the same when you strip away the fleshy body what ever skin colour or religion you tout. I think our character and how we treat others is the coin of the realm, a thousand years from now it won’t matter if you were a democrat or republican or Christian or Muslim. There are no churches in heaven..it’s how we treat others that count. Check out nderf.org near death experiences research foundation and look up recent nde’s it’s an eye opener people have spoken to God and Christ it’s all very illuminating considering these accounts come from people all over the world…. cheers

    2. @5cloudwalker Texas has the death penalty for things like this
That officer forfeit his life when he took another person’s

    3. @David Grover yeah why not, make an example and a warning to all the others I say burn him alive. let the PO PO know they will be held accountable

  3. He should have resigned the day before he shot her. Police departments across the country must do a better job recruiting, training, evaluating, and policing their own ranks. It was suppose to be a wellness check, instead it ended like a contract killing.

  4. “They don’t know why he did this”?????? How about piss poor training by the department. How about total disregard for life or safety. Wtf. What if it was a break in and the perp had hostages. Naw just run in guns blazing

    1. @Psalm 139 Projecting much? No one said anything about intelligence or comprehension; no need to get defensive with your “three” degrees followed by a hyphen.

    2. American police is the least trained police force in the developed world. And not surprisingly, the most violent/deadliest. They hand out badges after only 3-6 months education/training. And the psych tests they have before accepting people to the academy are basically non existing compare to other countries.

  5. USA police: “Let me see your hands even tho I won’t give you a chance, I’ll shoot before you drop the gun”

  6. So the police tried to blame her , she had a gun in the house.
This is part of a police disease in the US.

    1. Virginia B. Britton Can you blame them. They have to encounter the most disrespectful and hateful people who hate the police and without a doubt are ready to kill the police , like the officer killed most recently in Houston Tx., in cold blood.

    2. Mulinaster Good point. There was a possibility that he was announcing himself and giving verbal commands prior to turning on his recording device. Could be that’s why he turned it on. Sad because this boils down to, most likely, he wasn’t intending to kill an innocent person.

    3. Mulinaster I’ve seen a much longer clip and no, he was not yelling and asking for people to come out. That was the first time that he said anything to anyone in the house.

    4. Milinaster – you are obviously a coward pig yourself if you defend this shooting as “scary” for the officer… This is why the Dallas shooter sent those five Pigs to HELL!

    1. I mean he’s been fired and is now convicted on murder charges so I’m not sure I’d call that “protected”.
