One Chinese man dies, another missing after apparent fishing accident in Dominica

ROSEAU, Dominica – Police in Dominica say one Chinese man has died and another is missing after they fell into a rushing river while fishing from the banks.Police spokesman John Carbon said Monday that five Chinese men were casting fishing nets at the mouth of the Layou River on the rugged Caribbean island when two of them became submerged and quickly “encountered difficulties since they could not swim.”Carbon says the body of 60-year-old Zufu Kun has been recovered from the water. He was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital. A 24-year-old man identified as Yang Kang remains missing a day after the Sunday fishing trip.Both men were working on a China-funded road project in Dominica.Police are investigating the death and searching for the missing man.
