It checks for DNA/RNA. So its probably looking for virus RNA, no need for checking for antibodies.

(Canada) Nucleic acid technology Point of care test 2020-04-11 Point of care means it can be administered in a Doctors office…………..why can the public not purchase these kits for use at home………furthermore, there are a number of companies which have submitted their test kits for approval to Health Canada on Webpage ” Diagnostic devices for use against coronavirus (COVID-19): List of applications received” that are serological (Blood) test kits, yet non of these are approved according to Health Canada Health Canada Webpage ” Diagnostic devices for use against coronavirus (COVID-19): List of authorized devices” …..I have seen one serological test kit administered in a Youtube video which gives results within 3 minutes, can be done at the kitchen table using the pricking of the finger and collection of blood like for a diabetic, and reveals 1) if virus is in the blood, 2) if antibodies produced by the body against the virus are in the blood 3) if their is no evidence of virus nor antibodies in the blood…………Canadians want to know why the serological testing kits appear to be rejected by Health Canada in favor of Nucleic acid technology based kits…. Serological kit I became aware of costs about $25 while the Nucleic acid technology kits, which use laboratory analysis, cost around $70 per test……..Health Canada must give a plausible answer to the public why it is not authorizing serological COVID19 tests, when they cost less, and give results, sometimes in minutes. We must be assured that the reason is not financial gain for financial special interest groups, who may be blocking companies from receiving Health Canada authorization for purely competitive reasons, or political reasons. If a person has the antibodies, and then isolates for a predetermined time, and after if no virus, only antibodies are found in the blood, then they should be be able to return to a normal life having overcome COVID19…………Canadian government continuing to demand mass self isolation for an indefinite period of time is a disastrous scenario in light of results that can be determined through serological testing kits…….furthermore, if it can be proven that the test reveals antibodies and the person has recovered from COVID19, then they shall not have to take the future vaccination that Trudeau says is coming
