  1. Now you know next time drive real fast, that’s what I learned from this video. Speeding ticket is only $150.

    1. Yeah and run stop lights and drift corners, would save tons of time doing that, and would still be cheaper than a covid fine

    2. Fizzles Wizzles lol ya but that’s not wise when roads are icy!!!! Not to mention speeding tickets depend on how fast you are going. My kid got a $300 ticket n 2 points last summer when everyone was speeding due to nobody on the roads the dummy…..

    1. that’s right and we have the “Just for Laughs” (JULY 15-31, 2021) comedy festival but word a of caution, the way things are going, that might be a joke too !

  2. So what happened to the “police need a reason to pull you over” situation? I thought they said they can’t just pull you over for no reason then charge you with covid related things.

    1. @Colin .C Not according to section 6 of Canada’s Charter Rights Act. However, the Quarantine Act has suspended most of our fundamental civil rights.

    2. There is an 8 o’clock curfew. They pulled him over because he was out after 8. That’s a reason. I’m not saying I agree with the outcome, but if there is a curfew with a fine, then if you break curfew, expect to get pulled over!

    3. @dustigenes yep just like in Germany awhile back they had a similar thing
If you were from a certain culture you had to wear this arm band and if you didn’t you were arrested and fined
Not saying I agree with it but we can’t pick and choose witch rules we follow that simple ……………………..

    1. It’s so common, salt on the road, see it on 6 out of 10 cars in Quebec and Ontario, starts so small it’s no noticeable, can leak for 4 years before the driver notices

  3. Yeah sure he can pay it, so, Stasi what you going to do, put him in crowded covid prison. How much did all holiday MP’s get fined? Oh yeah, they are above the law.

    1. Bingy Bingy you completely miss the point, it’s no big deal to adhere to a curfew a small gesture big impact for covid. 🇨🇦

  4. Why wouldn’t they just give him a warning, especially knowing he was going back to Ontario. And with the bad weather, they should be happy that he was taking his time and being safe.

    1. They’re in it for money and tickets. The ticket money is almost irrelevent…the insurance is what gets you. WHICH SHOULDNT MATTER. ”speeding” is barely dangerous. The mental patients who get a lisense and almost hit you every other day and wreck cars every year are the real problem. No reason to pay half a used cars value in insurance each year. I’d fight that ticket.

    2. It will deter him from travelling access provinces and to make sure he doesn’t stay oug after 8. It’s like you guys have the maturity of a 10 year old

  5. Interesting that in this case the harshest fine was applied on the least excuse. The officer should be fired. The spokesperson should apologize for giving ridiculous non-answer. Fine should be dropped.

    1. Yup it’s the most high tech virus we have ever had.
In Ontario the virus knows not to enter schools or NHL hockey games.

  6. Twelve minutes past eight and on his way out of the province. A few over zealous cops here, kind of power-stricken eh!

  7. So stay at home then lmao. You’ve only been told EVERY DAY FOR THE PAST YEAR. Not buying this crap at all. Kids going to grow up thinking someone else will always be responsible every time he breaks a rule. Out of province plates, cops were just waiting for you. literally.
