Well we have no information about why he plead guilty, and the Trump administration has done everything it can to keep us from understanding exactly what he plead guilty to. I believe it’s been characterized as an “error in judgement” leading to a technical violation. A violation that would at _most_ have gotten a reprimand by anyone else any other time. What is clear is that the error made no difference whatsoever in the outcome of the FISA ruling.
