Pierre Poilievre tapping into growing anger and anxiety among some Canadians: Nanos | TREND LINE

CTVNews.ca's Michael Stittle and Nanos Research's Nik Nanos discuss growing concerns among the Canadian public about the economy, and how that could give an edge to politicians running on a populist message.

Then Nik and Michael discuss the latest numbers from the provincial election in Ontario – according to Nanos Research polling, Doug Ford's Progressive Conservative Party still has the edge.

Finally, Michael and Nik look back on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's trip to Ukraine and the seeming support enjoyed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

  1. Politics needs to move in a whole different direction! THE BANK IS PART OF THE OLD ESTABLISHMENT! WE NEED A COMPLETE 360 TO SAVE WHAT WAS ONCE THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. CANADA!

  2. Has the Bank of Canada ever experienced any kind of scrutiny that Pierre is suggesting it needs? Not in my knowledge. BOC probably thinks they are untouchable. A little light shed on the inner workings of BOC probably wouldn’t hurt.

  3. The BOC is claiming they made a mistake. They made a mistake for 14 years? Who makes a mistake for 14 years? That’s not a mistake, that’s a complete utter gross dereliction of duty.

    1. Pierre has spent his entire adult life being hyperpartisan. He is incapable of being a unifying leader for Canada

  4. 100 percent right🤣 The housing and gas prices are all 200% compared with that of 2019.
I blame the Central Bank to make the rich richer, and the poor poorer.

  5. Is he ever trying to cover up. Why did he get so upset, usually doesn’t happen unless there’s something to hide. Pierre blows the lid off and upsets these financial units.

  6. How come it’s always the anger of Canadians and never just the REALITY of what Canadians want?

    1. It’s not anger, it’s disappointment. Though that would make them sound like rational individuals, capable of making decisions based on logic and not emotion.

  7. Bulls__t is right! Bank of Canada leaves interest rates at 1/4% for years when times are decent in our economy. Where does that leave fiscal responsibility? You can’t drop without negative rates, so instead borrow 1/2 trillion dollars. Pierre is right. Trudeau has made it unaffordable for our citizens to live in this country any longer. He pissed away our future yesterday and the days before that 🙁 If my family didn’t live by Conservative values, we’d be struggling, instead surviving, but not striving. Pierre is our future if you want Canadians to strive and succeed in Canada.

  8. Less corruption, less elitism, less erosion of middle class tax base, better standard of living for everyone. Why is this so hard for humans to do. The system needs a reminder of why we created and fought for so many positive changes over the past century.

  9. Calling supporters of Pierre Polievre anti establishment is unkind. I am establishment with wanting that change and a stop of cancel culture too. Polievre has better common sense.

    1. He literally bashes our institutions. Also tell me 1 way Skippy can change cancel culture. He uses the phase as a buzz word to rally the stupid part of the CPC

  10. Dodge is a senile drunk bankster. Pierre needs to become PM if this country is to have a semblance of a chance for a bright future.

  11. I hope Canadians finally realize a drama teacher is the last one you want running a country.

  12. Those days if you speak the truth you get into trouble… no one can close his eyes if he sees his country falling apart because of unqualified leaders especially Trudeau

  13. As a Canadian I BELIEVE Pierre Poilievre before I will believe a BANKER ! When has a BANKster ever looked out for the small guy ?? Mr. Poilievre you have my VOTE.

  14. This bank person of course would be speaking that way … Pierre is correct in what he says … WE all know who the true problems are – Trudeau & liberals & ndp & Jagmeat.
