As an outsider who visits Jamaica often, I must say very good bill: now let it becomes law. Law abiding citizens will welcome this piece of legislation.

Ironic that many of the politicians who will pass this law live in gated communities surrounded by armed guards and themselves are fire arms carriers. How many news reports have you heard/seen where the police takes hours to arrive. Imagine if the farmers had rifles when they come to steal their crops and livestock! Imagine if the shopkeepers had shotguns when the robbers come for the money, what if the law abiding citizens had the means to defend their homes and family!
The law isn’t for poor ppl it’s to keep the rich and powerful safe.
This law is not needed. What is needed is for Jamaica to start making their own brand of firearms and have a more liberal gun rights law for law abiding citizens to own them for home, business and farm protection.

There is no reason to have an illegal firearm? So will law abiding citizens have easier access to legal firearm..
I may have contrary opinions towards politicans but this declaration and FIREARM BILL is a great move..
