Poilievre’s Conservatives have 7-point advantage over Trudeau’s Liberals: Nanos | TREND LINE

The New Year has begun with grim numbers for Justin Trudeau, according to pollster Nik Nanos. Not only is the 7% Conservative lead now outside the margin of error, but with the NDP also up, the Liberal Party is being squeezed on both sides.

Meanwhile, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has been attacking the federal government over health care, saying it’s worse than ever after seven years of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. However, although Conservative support may be up, Poilievre isn't doing quite as well when it comes to his personal brand.

Finally, Nik and host Michael Stittle discuss Canada's "not so great" reputation on the world stage. With Joe Biden is finally coming to Canada, can the Trudeau capitalize on the high-profile visit?

  1. According to Nanos who is a Liberal, so therefore the spread for the Conservatives is probably much more. YEAH

    1. @CC if you’re not a liberal when you’re young you have no heart and if you’re still a liberal when you’re older then you have no brain

    1. Trudeau is a hero of our nation and it’s the duty of Canadians to support the Liberal party!

  2. Most Liberals I know are going conservative. The conservatives are going toward the center more. In my opinion, we are getting taxed more but not receiving the services. It is one thing to be one of the most taxed peoples in the world it is another when we are not getting the services delivered that those taxes are supposed to pay for.

    1. Yes, I agree, but only the sane liberals who are discovering that they are actually conservative (small c )

    2. Absolutely. I was a Liberal and I noticed this too. I find the modern Conservative party to be basically the same as Liberals 20 years ago. I’m voting for Pierre!

  3. Nanos let it slip with the “don’t worry, there won’t be an election anytime soon” line.

Also, the interviewer asking “What’s causing this?”. Excuse me sir, but exactly how oblivious are you?

  4. How is the NDP up 2.9%? They are the reason Trudeau has power at this time. They also favour even stronger mandates, and more tax and spend policies.

    1. Lol they are why spending is what it is, that said conservatives talk about needing to get rid of the liberals yet also said the election a year ago wasn’t needed.

    2. It doesn’t matter how what the percentage for the Dippers is. They and the Grits are one party, joined at the hip.

  5. The longer Singh enables this worst government in our history, the less support the Liberals and NDP will get.
Both should be taken out behind the shed…figuratively speaking.

  6. Famous Ronald Reagan Quotes and speeches: “The top 9 most terrifying words in the English Language are: I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.”

  7. Trudeau is simply an embarrassment on the world stage. Plain to see with the AUKUS defence agreement….. totally sidelined.

  8. My natural gas bill just came in almost $200 more than same time last year. Thank you Mr. Trudeau hope you slip even more.

  9. I think Singh has lost credibility for propping up Trudeau and sporting his Rolex watches and $1,000 suits while always going after the 1% that he made rich through supporting Trudeau’s mandates.

  10. Why anyone would want Trudolph Castreau to still be PM, who has single handedly destroyed the economy with his reckless spending and “the budget will balance itself” mentality, and signed away Canada’s sovereignty to the WHO, is beyond me!

  11. Let’s get rid of Trudeau, the NDP should stop supporting the liberals immediately, we need an election now,
