Cops are not “warriors”.
Yes! They are sworn PEACE officers. Somehow that title has been lost.
This mindset is part of the problem
The second they stated calling us civilians and dressing in BDUs they were lost because they were no longer one of us.
They are like an occupying force. And like every occupying force they have overstayed their welcome.

This is exactly what’s wrong with police culture… These killer cops think they are little soldiers With the surplus US military equipment their cop shops purchased over the years

I appreciate Patrick Skinner’s perspective. My service in Iraq left me with some similar impressions. I would not wish to bring that war back home.
When 57 cops protest the suspension of two officers while they are investigating officers who pushed a 75 year old man to the ground, it doesn’t feel like the problem is a few bad apple. It feels like there is something wrong with the freakin tree.

I would love just one time in my life to have the ability to be afraid, I suffer from a debilitating circumstance that just will not allow the same. Therefore through a clear head I can recognize a threat appropriately without the angst of a coward.
