Biden will announce the aid in an 11:45 a.m. ET speech, shortly after Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to urge for greater assistance during a virtual address to the U.S. Senate and House earlier in the morning.

“We’re moving urgently to further augment the support to the brave people of Ukraine as they defend their country,” Biden said Tuesday. “And I’ll have much more to say about this tomorrow — about exactly what we’re doing in Ukraine.”
The additional $800 million will mean more than $2 billion in U.S. aid has gone to Ukraine since Biden entered office. The money has paid for an assortment of military equipment including 600 Stinger anti-aircraft systems, 2,600 Javelin anti-armor systems, nearly 40 million rounds of small arms ammunition, 200 grenade launchers and ammunition, 200 shotguns and 200 machine guns, according to the White House.
In addition, Biden signed into law a government funding bill Tuesday that will provide $13.6 billion in humanitarian aid, economic support and defense assistance for Ukraine and the region.

With that being said The PM of Ukraine addressed congress this morning wanting a no fly zone…I’m well aware it will cause a nuclear war if that is in place…the point I’m trying to make is that Biden should have addressed the issue and made it clear by being more transparent on the no fly zone plea from the PM. And while I do back up my president in times of crisis….I find it hard to do so with Biden

@Adissios Dynos Definitely agree with you in principal – very tough spot we’re in. Unfortunately, Putin’s plan is to draw in UN/NATO anyway he can. He’ll keep up his genocide campaign until there’s an atrocity committed in (for instance) Poland. That’s all it will take for the west to step in, and engage directly with Russia. Putin is not stable, believes in his on delusions more than the reality around him – he plays only his rules, and we have to recognize that fact.

I am from Finland, Northern Europe (very small country with no chance to impact anything alone). There is a lot of trust especially to the United States here and in Europe. Very many here do not want states like China or Russia to “lead” the world. A big thank you to the United States and its allies supporting Europe and democracy. Yes, we all know that no country is perfect – not even the US. However, without such a powerful country speaking (and acting) for democracy and true freedom coming with it, we (regular people) would be in much worse situation. NOTE. I have nothing against normal people (Russia and China), I and many others just don’t like the authoritarian or dictatorial state model and the way these countries work. Lots of things we take granted would be taken off if countries like Russia could expand freely without any consequences. Me and my family are hoping that the unified frontline with the US, EU and other allies holds up and the democracy stay strong in the future as well.
