Turns out the medicine is prophylactic and treats multiple conditions. There is reason to believe pharmaceutical companies knew it was effective but couldn’t make profits from a $5.00 drug.

Russell FaQue Sir, plenty of medication already on the market for certain conditions are being tested for other conditions, but that’s it, they need to be tested. For instance, this specific heart medication seems to do wonder in helping people with phobia…when used once in a very specific and controlled setting. I, myself, have been part of a short study when I was younger on the benefit of Fosamax for young people. It has been around for decades for older people and had helped a lot of kids and young teenager with osteogenesis imperfecta, however it never really worked on young adults…the point being, you can’t take an already existing medication and assuming it’ll work for every demographic. Far more importantly, you definitely can’t take an already existing medication that seems to be showing interesting side benefits and give it to everyone without testing it first. You need to see if it’s really effective and, more importantly, you need to see if there are dangerous short and long term side effects.
