  1. He’s reminds me of that popular poster where the rodent was flipping off the hawk swooping down on it. There’s no point in appeasing China, it’s far better to call them out on the world stage, it’s about the only thing that WILL give them pause. Knowing the world is watching and DISAPPROVES is about all that matters to China, they’re pragmatists and enjoy being a manufacturing giant for the world. Ensuring that an invasion on their part would harm their global trade would make the balance sheet unattractive when considering invasion.

    2. China is the last country in the world that would want a war to break up. They are the only one in the world which has several international projects on hand that will effected by it such as One road one belt initiative, Space Station and more…

US on the other hand, is collapsing, not just economy(holding on with money printing)maintenance for military and living condition of citizens too. US want world war, they want to spend off old military equipment for something more valuable as well as selling weapons(well, literally world biggest arms seller). US is also the o ly country that experienced economy and development booming after the last World War, they wanted another one to happen, they wanted a push for their failing development.

  2. Dismissing concerns of others does not contribute to valorizing own concerns. And size does not matter in this regard.

So what recourse is there when fellow permanent member states of the UNSC violate international law and rule based order? It will ultimately be a negative impact for the entire world, much like the pandemic was. Putin’s unnecessary war of aggression in Ukraine has already created a global grain and energy shortage; and the CCP is doing everything they can to exacerbate the situation.

ps. Thanks. I combined three meme references into one:
      1) The Port of Dandong
      2) The actor who urinated on the frog in some PRC film
      3) the smash hit anti-CCP song “Frogheat”

    1. @Greg Bors what does this issue has to do with Taiwan??? Irrelevant. Try telling Taiwan that the mainland China is not part of thiers and see if they will agree with you? Its a political ideology issue. It is not the same as what if you let Alaska be independent since it was only bought from Russia without its native people’s consent.

  3. “How is China responding?”
“We’ll, the CCP has tripled its bribes and quadrupled its threats to all neighboring island nations. Xi is quoted as having said: “Oh, bother.””

    1. Dor Dor The US is not where I’m getting my news from, but I will say that aside from Fox News in the United States, most of their news sources are reasonably accurate. In countries where the government controls the news, not so much. One does have to remember that in the United States and a few other countries, ratings and money drive the narrative to a degree, but it’s pretty easy to look at that and sort out what is true and what is false, if you really apply your mind to it.

    1. The USA gives US$110m in financial aid annually to the Federated States of Micronesia. To put into context their GDP is US$400m and 2021 Government budget was $64m

  4. Good for you President Panuelo!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

  5. Thanks President of Micronesia! It’s brave of you to say so and stand up to xjp. Vice News, Hollywood and many average Americans already knew. I hope the International Community sees the contrast in the lives of countries citizens. Would you rather UAE/China/Iran or you wanna USA/EU/Australia? As a human in regards to your daily living, pick a team.

  6. I served with a lot of Micronesian men in the military and they are great people if China trys to mess with them America will support the island nation 100%

    1. Micronesia is just that, micro. The Chinese simply don’t care one way or another about Micronesia it is only 1000 sq miles of land and that includes Guam. They can do whatever they want.

    1. All i can see in this video’s comments is that people who live in developed country and enjoyed wealthy and extravagant life which based on those workers who suffered 12h work and no labor security in developing countries , is judeging and criticizing others , and being afraid of any new power. All you want to do is blaming others from a moral standpoint. If you guys are fair and fine , you will be delighted for the enormous progress China has done on poverty eradication.

  7. Blunt but true. Say it as it is. Never mind he has nothing to lose since he is leaving office. He expressed loud and clear what many other small and big countries alike truly think of China’s ever increasing hegemonic dirty tactics throughout the world.

  8. FSM President David Panuelo is a down to Earth man. I am a Filipino who spent 15 years of my life in Pohnpei and Chuuk States of the Federated States of Micronesia as a foreign worker in the construction business sector over there. Back then in the early 90’s, President Panuelo was an ordinary educated Micronesian who owns a decent general merchandise store. He greets every one locals or expats with a smile and a lively hello, good morning or kaselehlia in their Pohnpeian language. I left the islands back in 2008 and was not really surprised to learn that in 2018, Mr. David Panuelo was elected as President.
Sir, I am sure the people of the FSM are proud of you, and will surely want to have you to lead them for another year. Mabuhay po! 🇫🇲🇵🇭

    1. I served in the Navy with many Filipino Friends.

We were constantly having to chase China out of territories of other countries, where China didn’t belong.
      …. especially the Philippines.

I love the Philippines, and I would gladly defend it …. if necessary.

Congratulations on the new US-PH military cooperation base.

Ps. Philippines should consider joining QUAD/AUKUS

  9. Couple of clarifications here from someone who worked in Micronesia for some years for the Australian government. Micronesia is not a single state, it is actually three sovereign nations Palau, Federated States of Micronesia and the Marshall Islands. China was pushing for influence there in the late 2000s when I was there and there was a huge amount of Chinese tourism where we were in Palau (a US client state), although Palau still recognised Taiwan at the time,

I can easily see from a strategic perspective why China is taking an interest here, but my experience was that these little countries often can summon up a very loud voice internationally when they shout together, which they often do.

    1. People refer to the FSM as Micronesia even though geographically Micronesia can include Palau, the FSM, the Marshall Islands, and the Mariana Islands.
