President Trump Impeached: What It Means And What Comes Next - Day That Was | MSNBC 1

President Donald Trump became the third president in United States history to become impeached on Wednesday night. The president was impeached on two articles, abuse of power and obstructing Congress, with both votes held mostly along party lines. Now, the Senate will hold a trial on whether or not to remove the president from office, likely beginning in January. Aired on 12/19/19.

    Democracy is a small club.

So yes, we’re watching. Kia Kaha Kia Toa and Arohanui, #USA 💗

  2. Why didn’t they add the emolument Clause along with the other charges?? No way he could have disputed that nail in coffin

    • @CynAnne1 did you know ( you’ll love this ), if a president is impeached in the house, and aquitted in the Senate, this nullifies his/her first term as president. Then he/she can run for a third term. Careful what you wish for. Lol I love it. This made my entire year!

@John Lyons you live inside a goddamned fantasyland

    • @Hayden Williams lol

  3. It means the media could call the President an impeached President for the next 4 years and the impeachment will be DOA in the Senate……………

  4. What’s up with the music? Annoying.

  5. we need to hear from witnesses

    • Richard Schroth | December 19, 2019 at 9:23 PM | Reply

@Chris King The attorney general will get to the facts. The House passed Articles of Impeachment. Its up to them to transmit them to the Senate for trial. No articles, no trial. The articles must be an ironclad case. The Senate is under no obligation to find guilt. It’s the House’s job to show that.

    • @Richard Schroth the house has charged Trump with articles of impeachment.. he has not been impeached.. impeachment is not a vote.. it’s a process.. the Senate is the jury.. the Senate decides if a president is guilty of articles of impeachment..

    • @Richard Schroth I will repeat this again: “this is only half true yes the senate is the jury but Trump and the State Department has blocked the testimony so they could not testify at the impeachment hearing before the house”. Therefore stopping Dems from building a ironclad case.

    • @Steve Xyz divide and conquer too many candidates running in primary how you split the vote I’m still riding with Bernie 2020!!

    • @Chris King the super-delegates and party elites pick the nominee..not you..
      Remember last time?.

  6. “America if you’re listening” I hope you get trumps tax returns.

    • @David L that will have to wait until 2025 after he finishes his second term.

    • @Rory Cannon No worries. I can automate my car washes and get rid of employment expenses. In that way, I can afford extra taxes to the government.

    • @Tomoppify You do realize that the funds rescued from paul manafort’s conviction (a trump associate) more than cover the cost of impeachment and the mueller report combined?

    • @Steve Xyz trump has provided no proof that the IRS is auditing him. Secondly, it is possible to define the demand for his tax returns as fishing. however, given trump’s claims about his tax returns, it is necessary to ensure that he is not lying like the other thousand times

    • @Rory Cannon he doesn’t need to prove it.. you’re not voting for him anyway.. Hillary and Obama were consummate liars.. and you voted for them.. just when did you have this epiphany that lying is bad and you found religion?

Why is there music in the background? It’s weird and distracting.

    • TheBase1aransas | December 19, 2019 at 8:55 PM | Reply

The most hilarious thing to notice. [MSNBC] and the Dems tromp on the Constitution constantly, but they have said Constitution and Republic more in the last week than in the last 6 months. The sad thing, is if they actually read it they would realize the House’s work is DONE! It’s all up to the Senate and Supreme Court now. [They] are out of bullets. #NothingCanStopWhatsComing

    • It is distracting and kind of annoying while trying to listen

    • I agree

    • @katrina Sandoval knuckleheads who who watch… Obviously you are watching… What a conundrum

  13. Smart delay wait for the Supreme Court!

    • bingbonga binga | December 19, 2019 at 6:59 PM | Reply

The Democrats do not want a Senate trial. Trump would win. All they will get is an asterix.

    • Nancy Pelosi has the right to send it over immediately to the Senate. THE FACT THAT SHE IS WAITING ON THIS PROVES SHE HAS NOTHING…. Don’t believe her excuses. IF THIS HAD BEEN A SERIOUS OFFENSE, WE WOULD HAVE THE PRESIDENT IMPEACHED WITHIN 3 DAYS.

    • The Supreme Court is just the 3rd Axis of the Government. That’s why the Articles go to the Senate for the “Trial”. MAGA 2020

  14. Why did she seem scared😂.

  15. Ok they won the conference championship. Will they win in the finals? What a episode!

  16. Ok, lets communicate clearly here: THE MUSIC SUCKS Thank you.

  17. the damned loud ‘background’ noise again, damnit.

  18. Rodger Harrison | December 19, 2019 at 6:58 PM | Reply

Impeached? I thought that he had to be Tried and then convicted by the Senate before he was actually impeached.

  19. 3:06 the time is messed up its in the future I’m saying this while watching in December 19 2019
