President Trump signs $2 trillion stimulus package to fight coronavirus | USA TODAY

Jobless claims smashed a record, U.S deaths surged past 1,000, and those $1,200 stimulus checks were inching closer to America's mailboxes Thursday as coronavirus tightened its grip on America.

The Labor Department, in announcing the unemployment claims numbers for last week, said what Americans already knew – that layoffs hit the hospitality and food service industries particularly hard. Other industries that struggled included health care and social assistance, arts, entertainment and recreation, transportation and warehousing, and manufacturing industries, Labor said.

    1. #RENTSTRIKE2020 RENT STRIKE APRIL 1ST. IF WE ALL REFUSE THEY’LL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO FORGIVE MORTGAGES AND RENT. WE HAVE TO STAND TOGETHER FOR THE MILLIONS WHO CAN’T PAY AND STOP MAKING ELITES RICH WHILE WORKING AMERICANS DROWN.

      What’s Happening April 1st?

On April 1st there is a call for tenants to refuse to pay their rent – but moreover, it is to demand for rent cancellation. Already, some tenants have already answered the call and have stated publicly that they will not be paying rent. In many cities, autonomous groups have sprung up, organizing tenants and pushing publicly for a rent strike. In other cities, established groups of tenant organizations are calling for a strike. Lastly, many groups of tenants are coming together on their own, outside of any public organization.
As we speak, both corporate parties are pushing through a massive bailout of trillions of dollars to various corporations and industries, affected by the coronavirus pandemic. What do we get? A whopping one-time check of $1,200 which will arrive – at some point. Just like in 2008, working and poor people are the ones who will be forced to pay for this crisis while the rich get bailed out, with our money.
On April 1st, millions of people who are out of work and who could barely afford to pay their rents before the COVID-19 crisis, will now be faced with homelessness at a time when the United States is leading the world in coronavirus infections. While some city and State governments have passed eviction moratoriums, this simply means that tenants will be placed into further debt after the crisis is over. This is not a solution.
Already, across the US and the world, workers, prisoners, and community members are standing up to say that the exploited and excluded will not pay for the collapse of capitalism. By joining together, we can demand in a united voice:

Collective immunity from COVID-19 and its sweeping effects. Rent striking is a way to address the mounting debt and expenses that millions of working families will face as a result of reduced hours or unemployment during the COVID-19 outbreak. The rent strikers demand No Paying–No Debt to survive.

    1. This will definitely pass the worst is yet to come so glad I have a rock to stand on and a shield to protect me

    1. Wasn’t me! In a world full of lies, the scariest part isn’t that there are lies, but the fact that you don’t recognize the truth when presented it. I hope that conspiracy news reports are ignored and shunned by more people.

    2. @Yoochan Shin
Just want to make sure to acknowledge your comments. Not just in response to mine but I just read your comments to others. It is heartening to know that there are still sensible, intelligent, calm people still out there. I’m starting to think you are outnumbered though. Outnumbered, outgunned, and mildly outraged. I say mildly not in a bad way. Just meaning not screaming at how stupid someone is or making death threats. It’s best to be clear. You never know what will trigger someone.
Be safe. Be smart. Be well.

    3. Create Mymy Death reports don’t interest me. Facts do and the fact is that right or wrong hunger doesn’t have a noticeable impact on the west as it does in the rest of the world. That doesn’t remove the concern surrounding hunger but as you said yourself, hunger has been a problem since the beginning of civilization and will continue.

I live in the United States and we refuse to lockdown our country. I do have internet and I understand many countries are on lockdown. I can’t see where each person lives so I can only speak to my situation. The media does bring to light good stories as well but admittedly the headline news stories are typically doom and gloom.

    1. The difference is that Trump isn’t doing this to fill his pockets. He’s doing this for the hard workers of america. But, go ahead an be toxic. I wouldn’t want it any other way 🙂

    1. The founding fathers created the oath defend America against any foreign or domestic enemys for a reason.. we’ll always have more enemys in the inside trying to rip the U.S. from the inside.. only way.. we’re too strong to invade

    1. @Wasn’t me! In reality you don’t even know how to spell delusions. So don’t act like you’re smarter than people who can. I’m not ‘spouting conspiracy theories’, I’m just considering all realistic scenarios.
If people simply doing that triggers your sensitive emotions, then you need to grow thicker skin snowflake.
I’d apologize for hurting your feelings with my comment, but I’m not sorry.

    2. Id be willing to bet not one thumb sucking liberal will send the check back and will still complain about it.

  1. How come no gun shots in the news?? No news about people getting shot or mass shootings. Wish the world can remain like this without people pulling trigger. Stay safe everyone.

  2. I’m going to hire the brilliant people from “Wall Street” to fix this. Asking the fox to guard the chicken house

    1. Stephanie Osornio you’re right – i didn’t realize exactly that this was for business. the guy really seems to know what’s going on.

    2. I wonder if thats the same wall street guys firing nurses and closing private hospitals with intensive care unit beds that will go unused in them just because they aren’t turning as big a profit. Yay free market.

    3. @Scott Mccullough how so? I’m no fan of his but when people twist his words… That’s when he gets reelected.

    4. Stephanie Osornio yes, i know. calling “Wolf” can backfire. let’s hope not!!!!!! take care 🙂 (from NYC)

  3. The US has 2 months to prepare and did nothing. Now brace for a disaster. The party in Bourbon street is over.

    1. Wasn’t me!

Let’s make this really simple for you. I called him out because fools are talking about 6 months. Instead of you calling that out you just feed into the gross exaggeration agreeing. Let’s look at some time frames.

      France first case January 24.
      February France second death.
Mar 14 France and Spain start lockdown. Sound familiar?

We had delayed testing for about a month. A failure that should have heads rolling. Nobody is disputing that.

Let’s look at what really matters. People get sick from the Flu yes? People are panicking because of the fear of death, not the fear of getting flu like symptoms.

America’s testing has primarily been hospital patients with minimal testing of those associated with the patients.

As you are openly complaining with others on the left, we aren’t testing the general population more right?

Let’s look at the death per million when comparing America who has not tested to identify how many minor cases we have had compared to countries who have a more accurate count. 80% of cases are minor. The more people confirmed positive the lower your death rate should be. Hope I haven’t lost you with this simple concept.

These numbers are death per MILLION PEOPLE.
      USA 7
      Ireland 7
      Sweden 11
      Denmark 12
      Portugal 12
      Austria 10
      Belgium 37
      Netherlands 45
      Switzerland 34
      UK 18
      France 35
      Spain 140
      Italy 166

Notice a trend? The next best countries typically have a 50% higher death rate. Thats what second to America means. ATLEAST 50% more die in Europe. And the number gos up to multiples fast.

And now America is getting on the ball with testing. Our numbers have started to spike up. So your very complaint is just typical left BS that will be completely invalid shortly.

Let’s say you are going to whine about our number of cases next. Because you know. Dumb leftist bs. Have you taken our population into account?

How many more people do we have than France and Spain combined? 3 times the population yet our number of cases is equal. Our deaths are less than a third with 9,000 compared to 2,200.

So what’s your reason for talking crap? Political bias and listening to BS from MSM.

    2. The Adventures Democrats did nothing and they knew, you see they were preoccupied with impeachment.

  4. You either have the virus or your gonna get it. We just need to get it to a level where we have enough supplies to cover demand. Without supplies people die.

    1. Correct, I believe I already have the virus due to a close exposure to someone that was close to somenoe who tested positive. I’m one of the lucky ones and the most I got was a sore throat…. basically asymptomatic right now on Quarantine. It is not containable and it is ineveitable for everyone.

Hospitals are already overwhelmed and we haven’t even peaked in numbers yet, doctors do not have proper supplies and N95 masks, some hospital workers in New York have to use garbage bags instead of gowns… We do not have enough Ventilators or ECMO machines to take care of those that need the most critical care. This is a DISASTER and in the 21st century the US should be ASHAMED of their response. After this pandemic is over (provided I survive it) I may just move to Asia becuase at least they know how to respond to and handle a pandemic properly. Here in the US people are too arrogant and ignorant to follow social distancing.

    2. @gravityhammer25 do you like how the Chinese government forces people in their homes and nails their doors and windows shut, locking them in their home?

    3. @Planet Express
True story. They also imprison people whose beliefs differ from there leader. Not a conspiracy theory, a proven fact. I’m not talking about a radical violent movement that threatened the country. I’m talking about a movement of inner peace, health and community. Locked them up! Outlawed the movement! If that sounds like a place better than here, go for it.

  5. $1200 can’t pay the rent or mortgage, food , electricity, diapers, day cares, clothes, formula, gas, other expensive. Shame on USA government and the politicians.🤦‍♂️

    1. C K This is a virus. Virus is nothing political I hope you understand. CCP took action slow but they weren’t hiding for months. Like how countries like Italy didn’t take it seriously and thought it was just a bad flu even after the Wuhan lockdown. Let’s just admit we all underestimated it and no government did a good job. Also your shitty government for not doing its own job protecting your own people.

    2. @Maggie you really believe the lies coming out of the mouths of communists? Funny how their cases allegedly went down after they kicked out a bunch of our reporters… 🤔

  6. I now see how US internal house order works. Absolutely chaotic. Plenty of $$$, yet can’t even have enough medical supplies for the citizens. So this is how liberal capitalism works.

  7. Applying Industrial Hygiene in Treating COVID 19

I realised that since the government is telling the people to wash their hands regularly and the World Health Organization recommends the use of alcohol whether isopropyl alcohol or Ethyl Alcohol for disinfection,

I got an idea of using alcohol vapor to kill the virus inside our lungs by intentionally inhaling the alcohol vapor. However, this may work only for those people with mild symptoms since their lungs have minor secretion/mucus while for those severe cases it might be completely covered with mucus and the virus will not be directly exposed to the alcohol vapor. In order for it to work for severe cases it has to be treated with nebulizer first to soften and expel phlegm and that’s the only time that this therapy will become effective.

as a former Industrial Hygienist for 15 years, I know also that there is a safe level for airborne alcohol vapor since the nature of work of an Industrial Hygienist is to measure the concentration of airborne contaminant and compare it to the safe level as stated in the standard. Actually, we used to experience inhaling alcohol vapor whenever we are visiting alcohol manufacturing companies and imagine also how disinfected and sanitized the lung of the worker’s in the alcohol manufacturing companies.

The toxicologist will agree that there is an alcohol vapor concentration that people may be exposed to for eight hours without them sustaining any adverse health effect and this is called Threshold Limit Value(TLV). These TLVs are computed based on the lethal dose 50 (LD50) and by using some factors to convert it to Lethal Concentration then another uncertainty factor to arrive to the so called TLV. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Standard the TLV/safe concentration for Ethyl alcohol vapor is 1000ppm while the TLV for isopropyl alcohol (IPA) is 400ppm meaning IPA is more toxic than Ethyl Alcohol(Ethanol).

It may sound absurd but I am proposing to use this Industrial Hygiene Technique to treat the COVID19 by intentionally exposing the patient to alcohol vapor within the safe concentration or TLV.

I am proposing that this therapy be intermittent and should not reach or last 8 hours to make it safer especially for children and elderly since dosage is always based on patient’s weight and susceptibility and to allow the patients bodies to somehow produce antibodies by fighting minimal number of active COVID 19 virus.
The above-mentioned standard is applicable for regular adult without underlying disease.

Patient should inhale a maximum of 9ml for Ethanol and 4.82 ml for IPA in a duration of 8 hours. A plastic bottle with its corresponding recommended amount gradually squeezing and inhaling in 8 hours will definitely expose the virus in the lung killing the COVID 19 virus using the proposed therapy. It is not necessarily a continuous 8 hr exposure it may be done intermittently or the recommended amount further reduce to ensure safer therapy.

18 years ago there is SARS outbreak and then few years later there is MERS and up to now they have not come up with a specific vaccine for these viruses now there is COVID 19 It might take few more years to discover the vaccine for these viruses. For the meantime that there is no vaccine discovered yet for this COVID19 Virus it’s high time to try the proposed possible solution using Industrial Hygiene technique. Please see supporting computation below.

    ppm –parts per million
    MW of ethanol= 46.07g/mol
    density of Ethanol = 800mg/ml
    TLV of Ethanol = 1000ppm

    MW of Isopropyl Alcohol = 60.1 g/mol
density of IPA at room temp = 781.2 mg/ml
TLV of IPA = 400 ppm

To compute safe 8 hr exposure for Ethanol

    ppm = (24.45 L/mol)(mg/m3)
    MW
    Therefore:

    mg/ m3= MW (ppm)
    24.45

    mg/ m3= 46.07 (1000ppm) = 1884 mg/ m3
    24.45

    converting to mg/L ( 1884 mg/ m3)(1 m3)= 1.88mg/L
    1000L
    0.5 L per breath x 16 breath a minute = 8L/min
    (1.88mg/L)(8 L/min) = 15 mg/min

to determine inhaled Ethanol in 8hrs
    (15 mg/min)(60min/hr) (8hrs) = 7200mg

since density of Ethanol = 800mg/ml

    7200mg = 9 ml
    800mg/ml

Should not inhale more than 9ml of Ethanol in 8 hours

To compute safe 8 hr exposure for Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA)

    ppm = (24.45 L/mol)(mg/m3)
    MW
    Therefore:

    mg/ m3= MW (ppm)
    24.45

    mg/ m3= (60.1) (400ppm) = 983.2 mg/ m3
    24.45

    converting to mg/L ( 983.2 mg/ m3)(1 m3)= 0.98mg/L
    1000L
    based on 0.5 L per breath x 16 breaths a minute = 8L/min

    (0.98mg/L)(8 L/min) = 7.84 mg/min

to determine inhaled IPA in 8hrs
    (7.84 mg/min)(60min/hr) (8hrs) = 3763.2mg

since density of IPA at room temp = 781.2 mg/ml

    3763.2 mg = 4.82 ml
    781.2mg/ml

Should not inhale more than 4.82 ml of IPA in 8 hours

  8. Hey Trump haters. Don’t accept the monies that he’s sending out. Remember: He’s NOT YOUR PRESIDENT! (LOL!)

    1. I remember the ones that said if Trump got elected they were going to leave the country I wish those two nuts on The View Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg would lead the way

    2. Lmao you think that money comes from his pockets. That’s all tax payer money and the election is right around the corner so what a good way to get people to vote for good old Donny. Not complaining but he just givin your money back

    3. That’s why I aint taking the money. I’m no freeloader. Socialism ALWAYS leads to death.
No free handouts. Plus how we going to pay for this??

    4. @pun pun Productions It’s apparent that you didn’t bother to look into the House’s COVID-19 stimulus bill, drafted by your Socialist Democrats full of pork spending.
