Presidential Debate recap: no winners declared in either Trump or Biden| USA TODAY

Who won the presidential debate is in the eye of the beholder as Trump and Biden argue, giving little of substance to voters and both claiming victory.
RELATED: Joe Biden to President Trump: 'You're the worst president America has ever had'

Social distancing measures at the first debate between President Donald Trump and his Democratic rival Joe Biden meant that their podiums were far apart from one another and there was no customary handshake between the two rivals at the beginning of the evening.

But the lack of a handshake was far from the way in which the Cleveland debate broke the normal conventions of civility.

    1. @D. Truett maybe if you ignore plenty of things both sides have done lmaoo. Some of us dont have tunnel vision or a double digit iq. Keep up the random caps boomer.

    2. If you REALLY don’t know what happened, go watch it instead of listening to the people in the comments. The trolls are coming at Trump supporters like the FLIES ON A TURD that they are. Listen to THEM & they’ll have you believe biden/Wallace team kicked Trump all over the stage
      It was a TRUMP/Wallace debate

    1. Very stable genius Putin hay Dr. fauci saying jumping off a cliff cures corona, you demotard better get a head start and listen to the expert. Aright buddy good boy. Comrade Biden will be so proud of you 👍

    1. @J L It depends on the country. In the US it makes a substantial difference. In places like the UK or germany it makes a little difference. In places like russia or Iran it makes absolutely no difference.
And of course there are countries that don’t even have a voting system.

    1. Not South Park, not even Peanuts characters, but sad reality of trump being impervious to the plight of the underemployed people and the constant proliferation of Coronavirus !!

    1. Agree, it was a mess how much they insult eachother like children in the playground with Trump being a bully and Biden being the wimpy kid that says “Stick and stones may break my bones…”

    2. @Striker 50 you would too if the DEMONRATS were coming at you NON STOP for 4 years.
You would too if EVERY word coming out of DEMONRAT mouths about you were LIES
      MORON

    1. @John Doe you’re right. I couldn’t have dealt with 1/8 the pressure Trump has endured. He could retire but he’s in it for us. So were gonna be in it for him come nov.3!

    2. @Robert Miller maybe you didn’t read the article that the CDC released. 96% of deaths were comorbidity. It means they died of other factors or illness including suicide… yeah you heard that right. Democrats are destroying the country based on emotions, not fact. So if 4% of 200,000 deaths was 8,000 people who actually died of covid, that means they destroyed the economy and took away your freedom for a .0024% likelihood of dying from it out of 330 million people. You have a higher likely hood of committing suicide or dying in a car wreck then dying from corona virus.

    3. No Trump wasn’t debating them, he was interrupting them..he came off as arrogant, rude, and petulant .. he acted like a child that wants to get his way no matter what..I agree with most of Trumps positions but can’t stand the person that he is..I like Biden as a person but disagree with most of his positions..so these are my 2 choices..kept waiting for Biden to totally forget where he was but he probably handled himself better than anyone expected..he lowered expectations for himself and easily exceeded them in the debate..round 1 goes to Biden.

    4. John Doe ok you misinterpreted the article, there is a great video by a guy named dr Mike on YouTube that explains it well, basically yes only 4% died from covid alone but the 96 percent were people who had prior conditions who were at risk, got the virus, and died from covid and their pre existing conditions. Fact of the matter is, only about 1% of those people would have died without covid, covid pushed them over the edge into death.

    5. @Lee Steal Trump is directly responsible for all of those deaths because they happened on his watch moron. Ever heard the term the buck stops here.

    1. Tejas Sahni he saved Biden poor butt so many times ”um your rally were kept small” yeah bc nobody showed up. Uhh 2min up. Are joking it was a trump vs Wallace debate 😂😂😂.hunter should sent his Ukraine money to Wallace as Thank you

    2. Yeah you dang moderators. I tuned in to specifically listen to 2 guys talk at the same time and to talk about whatever and whoever they wanted. I don’t want hear about things that are relevant to me or affect me personally. I don’t want to follow what any one candidate is saying, or hear any semblance of logic or reasoning. I want childish insults being hurled in the middle of a pandemic. Aarg! Moderators!

    3. @Tejas Sahni You obviously are bias. When did he shut down Biden with his disrespect? How does he get off asking Trump 3 or 4 questions in a row? How does he get off telling the candidates they don’t have to answer the question then allows Biden not to answer an important question about the supreme court? His bias was clear.

    4. @Lee Steal He didn’t have to shut down Biden because he wasn’t interrupting. My God you people will justify anything this guy does. I am not now, nor have I ever been totally again President Trump. I want to like him (I mean he’s my president too) but Jesus he behaves like a petulant child and his die hard supporters refuse facts. Trump was constantly talking over people and therefore it needed to be constantly addressed. That’s how moderators work.

    1. Um, no. But the century of devices and social media and idiots who would vote for Trump expect it to be that way. Debates were never so until Republicans — from Reagan on forward — started turning them into shows instead of intellectual exchanges.

    1. @Joleah Nowicki He’s suppose to be talking to the people not orange man who doesn’t know when to shut up. And what kind of president is he, when he refuses to condemn white supremacy.

    2. Joleah Nowicki You mean like Trump being all coked up and ready to go? He was so far gone that he couldn’t even keep, his mouth shut.

  1. Trump: “he has no law enforcement support”
    Biden: “that’s not true”
Trump: “name ONE group that supports you”
    Biden: “we don’t have time”

    1. the people want a child and woman groper. ( evidence is abundant) a criminal family and specifically son. This is the best dems can offer. Im no staunch trump supporter. But jesus christ this country is screwed and i know they will try and blame everything on current potus

  2. It was appalling to see leaders acting like children. I took nothing away from this. Two kids fighting over an ice cream. Childless boress and unintelligent watse of time on both parties. I call them both a……s

    1. The real question is, why did Biden have notes, when at the start Wallace claimed niether candidate knew what was going to be asked.
They want you to believe that biden just so happened to prepare the right set of notes, for those specific questions that he supposedly was unaware of prior to the line of questioning.

  3. 🤥 Charlatan-in-Chief 🏌️‍♂️ = Char·la·tan: A person falsely claiming to have a special knowledge or skill; a fraud!
