Dominica was placed under a Tropical Storm warning on September 5, 2017 in anticipation of storm force winds during the passage of Hurricane Irma. Save for some storm surge and occasional thunderstorms, the island was spared the destructive effects of the Hurricane. The Hon Prime Minister addressed the nation on Wednesday morning. He took the opportunity to empathize with islands most affected by the storm.
