Prosecutor gives update on shooting of 17-year-old Joshua Ruffin | USA TODAY

Prosecutors are expected to announce whether a white Columbia police officer will face charges in the killing of Joshua Ruffin.

A Columbia police officer said Ruffin pointed a gun at him as he ran from questioning about nearby car break-ins in April. The police chief also promised to release body camera footage of the shooting of Ruffin, whose name has been chanted by protesters in Columbia angry over how police treat minorities.

  1. Why did 17 year old Joshua have a loaded gun and pull it on a cop? Why did he run from the cop? You have to be 18 to have a gun, you have to have a CWP to conceal carry, running from a cop is against the law, pulling a gun on a cop is against the law.
