Prosecutors say Trump probe extends beyond hush money payments

Manhattan prosecutors on Monday asked a federal judge to dismiss President Donald Trump's lawsuit challenging a subpoena for his financial records, emphasizing that their investigation extends beyond hush-money payments and pointing to public reports of "extensive and protracted criminal conduct" at the Trump Organization.
Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance's lawyers have previously said the probe is expansive, and on Monday they pointed out that when the subpoena was issued, "there were public allegations of possible criminal activity at Plaintiff's New York County-based Trump Organization dating back over a decade."
Last week, lawyers for Trump filed an amended complaint seeking to block the state grand jury subpoena to Trump's long-time accountant Mazars USA for eight years of personal and business records by arguing the subpoena was "wildly overbroad" and issued in bad faith.
Trump's latest legal challenge comes after the US Supreme Court ruled last month that the President does not have broad immunity from a state grand jury subpoena.

  1. Trump will eventually be dethroned off of the inflated horse he rides. Will see how he back peddles, deny, and lies his way out.

    1. @Jim Boyy…Evidence sufficient to convict is presented in court. We as civilians are not privy to the actual evidence that prosecutors will use in court.
That said, there is PLENTY of evidence the public is aware of that has been uncovered by investigative journalists…you know, the ‘fake news’…except it is anything but fake. There are multiple examples of Trump’s business partnerships with organized crime figures that is public record.

Examples: Trump and his companies have done business with New York and Philadelphia families linked to the Italian-American Mafia. Trump helped a financier for the Scarfo family get a casino license, and constructed a casino using firms controlled by Nicodemo Scarfo. Trump also bought real estate from Philadelphia crime family member Salvatore Testa, and bought concrete from companies associated with the Genovese crime family and the Gambino crime family. Trump Plaza paid a $450,000 fine leveled by the Casino Gaming Commission for giving $1.6 million in rare automobiles to Robert LiButti, the acquaintance of John Gotti. Starting in 2003, the Trump Organization worked with Felix Sater, who had a 1998 racketeering conviction for a $40 million Mafia-linked stock fraud scheme, and who had then become an informant against the mafia.

Felix Sater, a former mobster and convicted felon turned FBI informant, who used to have offices in Trump Tower, and is Trump’s old business partner. He was the guy who laundered Russian mob money, and monies embezzled from BTA bank of Kazakhstan, along with Tevfik Arif through their company Bayrock LLC to finance Trump Soho. Fast forward a few years to when Trump was pursuing the Trump Moscow project, Trump’s liaison to Putin was the same Felix Sater.

On Nov. 3, 2015, Felix Sater sent an email to Michael Cohen saying, “I arranged for Ivanka to sit in Putin’s private chair at his desk and office in the Kremlin. I will get Putin on this program and we will get Donald elected. I know how to play it and we will get this done. Buddy, our boy [Trump] can become president of the USA and we can engineer it. I will get all of Putin’s team to buy in on this.”

Trump accepted help from Russian oligarchs to get elected in 2016. Russian oligarchs, are the same thing as organized crime bosses. Russian organizations, IRA, Concord Management, Consulting LLC, which are controlled by a Russian oligarch, Yevgeny Prigozhin, a close ally of Putin’s spent more than $1.25 million a month just on social media campaigns favoring Trump in the months leading up to the election according to the special counsel. A Russian American energy tycoon, Simon Kukes, who boasted to Vyacheslav Pavlovsky, a career Kremlin official in July 2016 of being “actively involved in Trump’s election campaign”—donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Trump Victory fund. And a company affiliated with sanctioned Russian oligarch, Viktor Vekselberg, paid $1 million to Michael Cohen, then Trump’s personal lawyer, for unspecified services after the election. For example, consider Russian oligarch Aras Agalarov’s transfer of $20 million to an American bank account just days after a meeting that he organized between the Trump campaign’s most senior officials, including Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner, and a Russian government attorney. That money was then very likely siphoned off into several shell companies, then into various Trump super PACS and Trump campaign funds.

Prigozhin and his two Concord entities were among the individuals and organizations included in Mueller’s indictment.

You’d have to have oatmeal for brains to believe Trump hasn’t been in bed with organized crime for decades.

    2. @Mr Jones Likely his father as well. You probably don’t do much big real estate in NYC without the mob.

  2. How many crimes does it take to arrest trump
Trump: My dad gave me a small loan of a million dollars. It’s a hoax

    1. Juan Mota , your courts cannot jail him coz of his position, once he is out of position, he will be jailed, he might never see the light of day once he is in….

    2. Juan Mota , for someone who likes to smear gold on his face, dear Juan, you are the last person I want to keep in contact. Perhaps, they don’t convict him, so what. It only shows how corrupt the country is. Why do I care? The more corrupt, the less ppl of the world like…. so someday US will enjoy isolation from the world, by then, it becomes a 4th world country.

    1. Don’t get down to their level. He’s not chosen by God. He’s chosen by greed, racism, corruption, ignorance

  3. Telling a bank that a property you own is worth 300 million when you know it’s only worth 10 million is fraud.

    1. @Juan Mota That’s the point there is no convictions because the laws are loose, the Trump lawyers are arguing a sitting president can’t be prosecuted in office.Trump can put this to rest by revealing his tax returns.Would you fight so hard to hide something,I there’s nothing nefarious in there.

    2. @UC13QpcHLI6ExDvzRCxYhTTA My clue to him being bankrupt,he was hailed as funding his campaign, but latest financial disclosures shows the campaign funding him and his family.

    3. Magic Mike he’s in serious debt and is hemorrhaging money because his properties aren’t making anything due to the pandemic. That’s the real reason he wanted to open the economy so badly but unfortunately you can’t con a virus. His financial disclosure for this year is gonna look horrible. But his taxes I guarantee will reveal a lot. He can no longer get loans from banks in the US because they don’t trust him so the only way he can get investors is by courting foreigners. His supporters tend to forget the Bank of China was one of his biggest investors. I want to know what he owes Russia specifically.

    1. @TrumpRulesYou_ DealWithIt
In 2018, Rasmussen Reports predicted that Republicans would win the generic ballot by 1 percentage point while the actual election results had Democrats winning by nearly 9 percentage points. This error of nearly 10 percentage points was the largest polling error out of major firms who polled the national generic ballot.
      Deal with it nitwit.

    2. @Bruce Smith
Really, how did you find that out. Sell that to any newspaper with proof and you’re an instant millionaire.

    3. @TrumpRulesYou_ DealWithIt why? Because he’s done such a bang up job in protecting Americans from a hideous virus? Protecting their livelihoods? Protecting racist statues rather than protecting our troops? He’s got your vote, huh? Well good luck with that!

    4. @Dusty Rains Read the autopsy report….and quit following the conspirator-in-chief. I bet you love Alex Jones, don’t ya?

    1. @Robert Wishful thinking on your part, Robert. I suspect they have much more solid evidence than that. Trump has been found guilty of misuse of foundation money. Where did the hush money came from? From his pocket, or from his foundation, or the campaign or inauguration funds? Were the payments reported as personal expenses in Trump´s tax returns, or as a “business” legal expenses”? BTW, the Deutsche Bank manager who extended loans to Trump is under internal investigation. I trust we will soon know why.

    2. @Robert Exactly, the president’s bailouts to corporations is the way to go here. Of course, it’s even better when he can direct money to his cronies rather than shotgunning out money to just any rich people. But what is key here that during this pandemic we don’t waste money on contact tracing, quarantining, helping people that live paycheck to paycheck with sick leave so that they can stay home if they suspect they are sick. Clearly the rich people in the country are suffering and the US needs to step up and help them.

    1. Johnny Zeee I think his alter ego is John Barron. He used to call publishers, reporters and various publicity sources and claim to be John Barron, Donald Trump’s publicist. “John Barron “ was fond of telling everyone who would listen that Madonna was chasing Donald. So no John Smith, it will have to be John Barron!

    2. TrumpRulesYou_ DealWithIt only 11/3 will tell. Biden is pretty popular with ex-Republicans and every democrat will vote for him.

    3. +Ian Home Wins election. The Clintons go to jail and he doesn’t get corona because it’s a fraud.

  4. US capitalist social system …
Blue collar worker: 10 years for protesting despots …
Oringe collar worker: gets to be Pres for screwing US blind …

    1. @Tohur yet another simpleton..sheeple..priceless fool..glad you could help further the left cause…sheeple wow..can’t help admire

    1. @Mr Jones your wasting your time with the magat crowd. They have rocks for brains. The only thing you can do with a rock is crush it to powder.

    2. +William Roark Time to lock up anyone who starts another phony investigation as well as those who started the previous half dozen fraudulent so called scandals. Boycott any company that advertises on CNN or MSNBC and force them out of business.

    3. @nobody that you know…I ran across this one today. Made me laugh.
There was a crooked man who led a crooked life.
He was a crooked husband with a some-what crooked wife.
He had some crooked children and son-in-law–a louse.
And they divided this great nation from their White and crooked House….

  5. Fraud, embezzlement and lying under oath/on a government form, those are all crimes if I do them 🤷‍♂️

    1. Passing my thoughts to as many as I can. I’m hearing a lot of “probable”, “Possible”, “suggested that.” I read The NewsWeek article covering this subpoena. The Prosecutor is seeking a subpoena for all personal and business transactions of Trump over several years (I think 8). The Justification for the subpoena is Two-Fold: one, published allegations of “possible” (possible hearsay) of improper (whatever that means) financial transactions by entities and individuals over years related to Trump or his business; and two, Michael Cohen’s claim that trump sent potential business partners and banks a summary of properties whose values were inflated (which might be fraud depending on the purpose and intent of the summaries. Also, there are different ways of assessing property). The pretext for the relevance of the subpoena is that it is extending from an investigation of “hush-money” ( might be an enforceable bilateral contract) to women with whom Trump may have had affairs. This subpoena seems overly broad and harassment in my opinion.

    2. @bdegrds my defense is that I didn’t kill anyone and you have to prove me wrong. Meanwhile the resources put against me are not in the slightest pursuing real killers

    3. @Dale Hartley more like 4 more years of chicken little media crying about the cards they delt themselves. December will be a trump hating holiday leading up to a Nuremberg new year of false clames

    1. carlomagno successful he has built the best economy that our countries ever had and the guy has got his own tower

    2. @Controlla Noah uhh no, we have had the remains of the Obama economy, and you mean his tower that he had to con people into and lie to them about…the one that has lost residents since he got elected….yeah.

  6. That’s why he is crying “I’m a sore loser. Tik tok hurry up f’n clock “LOCK HIM UPPPPPPP!!!!!!
