Protests Underway In Houston Where George Floyd Grew Up | MTP Daily | MSNBC

  1. Mr Floyd was a long-time friend of NBA star Steven Jackson. According to Mr Jackson, he was one of those cats who never tried to use him or ask him for something that he didn’t actually need. That was a “rare thing” for someone in the NBA.
    RIP MR Floyd.

    1. @Emily I am just trying to share a little of who the man was. Because he’s not just a name or a headline.

    2. Ro G EXACTLY. He is not just a name or headline. He was human being who was callously and willfully murdered.

    3. Our hearts go out to Mr. Floyd and his family.
I don’t have the answer of how, but somehow, this racism NEEDS TO STOP!
ALL RACIST COPS need to be fired immediately.
      Use the 25th, NOW!
As well, the people who trained the cops and approved them for the job need to be fired!
Racists can’t hide themselves very well, so the trainers and administrators
      Enough is enough!
NO PERSON should have to fear for their lives when walking or driving down the street.
We are all just humans trying to etch out a living on this rock in the sky.

    1. It is not a kind of freedom as HongKong they need fully independence from China. In America, it is a fight against System thinking/mentality. Racism must be end.

    2. @Nikunj Bansal Not trying to tie two things together. Hong Kong cannot be independent from China just like how California cannot be independent from USA. Not picking side here, but let’s not pretend these violent protests are not riots, both in Hong Kong and in US.

  2. George Floyd was such a threat that the officer had his hands in his pockets while leaning on his neck for 8 minutes. Handcuffed and subdued by 3 officers to enforce a misdemeanor.

    1. I find it offensive that you used the word ‘love’. You didn’t do your homework about what happened and now asking someone to direct you to the full video. Seems like you certainly are 100% racist and ignorant while rendering your judgement.

    2. @Mercury Angel I could care less what you find offensive. I just can’t find the whole story and I don’t think you can either. I don’t pass judgement so easily, you clearly do. I have only seen one side of the story and a ton of opinion and speculation. You’ve seen no proof yet and you’ve already made up your mind judge, jury and executioner.

    1. Yeah really. People are dying and no one’s been tested and the tests aren’t accurate. It in check if he does time. But not gone, just in check.

    2. “Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction.” – Martin Luther King

  3. They killed your friend so shut down everyone’s day who is on your side. No one is for that murder

  4. first is George Floyd and then it’s one of your family members and then it’s you watch the movie 1985

  5. With this cop having EIGHTEEN prior complaints against him, and the cop who was standing by having FIVE prior complaints against him, I guess that police department’s boss, the mayor, has a lot of explaining to do.

  6. Wish I could be there to protest this police brutality, the department needs to charge their own for crimes against humanity. It took Mr. Floyd’s death for us all to see the threat against African Americans. Protests need to continue until charges are made. If this officer did this in broad daylight what does he do when no one is watching. I understand the officer who caused the death of Mr. Floyd had several past misdeeds but he was never fired, now look at what you are all responsible for. All these officers need to be charged immediately for wrongful death.

  7. Protesting by blocking a highway of people who have nothing to do with the murder is idiotic and counterproductive
