Camper? hunter? military? which military? Medical training? mechanical ? Seems like cops are just hoping to find him and no intelligence used to look for him.
Throwing a bunch of loose leaf cops into a forest and saying hunt is stupid. Losers with no plan. You need hunters from the area not cops.

I hope that the police do find him and arrest him because he did a terrible thing to kill his own precious beautiful little girls. No normal parent would go around murdering their own children.
