Queen Elizabeth II began her Platinum Jubilee celebration to mark her 70 years on the throne with the Trooping the Colour parade.

Dressed in a pale blue coat dress and hat, holding a cane and wearing shaded glasses, the queen looked happy and well, and even chatted to one of her great-grandchildren as she stood on the balcony.

  1. The Royals go back to King Richard 1st. to think MM would have been all part of that as well as money and all the pomp. But her pride took over.

  5. Those who say it is just sad to see a sparse balcony should recall anti monarchist complain about its cost.
    Making it sparse could save it in the near term.
