The number of rusting nuclear reactors in Russian harbours…..thin end of the wedge.
It was one of their rusted nuclear missals built in the 70s with a warhead that can’t take a fuel explosion. I don’t understand the reactor power other than steam powered or electric powered, the electric power would have great range but be very slow with a prop engine and the steam powered would be heavy and slow.
@myko freder What seems that they are trying to build is a scramjet missile using nuclear reactor so it could travel at hypersonic speeds for a very long time (days or even longer) before being sent to hit its target.
@myko freder granted it’s ‘new’ tech being the source of the current ‘glitch’. But it’s the smorgasbord of old reactors rusting away in derelict soviet era ships and subs that’ll devastate the region(s).

I should point out that trumps response was to say that the USA started this insane repeat of the cold war & already has such weapons.
He’s well known for being caught off guard & spewing top military secrets while rambling. There is only 1 I know stupid enough to start this old garbage idea up again & its trump.
However, if the USA did this 1st, it world make perfect sense for Putin to feel compelled to try to build his own.

Has anyone seen the HBO mini-series, “Chernobyl?” Hearing this after having watched that…yikes.
It’s worth noting the science in that show was highly dramatised – radiation is no joke – but the way they portrayed was kinda laughable.
biggest difference between Chernobyl and this is that this is in Russia, Chernobyl is in Ukraine and Belarus, places the Russian government don’t mind if folks die, this is in mother Russia herself. Might be some backlash, but I doubt it.

My wife was a young girl when Chernobyl happened, and she lived about 100 km away. She and her siblings all have health issues. These are exactly the same kind of lies her family were told by the Russian government in 1986.
