Rep. Barbara Lee on GA Voter Suppression Tactics: “These Are Fundamental Attacks On Our Democracy”

Rep. Barbara Lee joins Ali Velshi ahead of a tour of border facilities in El Paso (her hometown) to talk about how to rebuild the country’s immigration process after the previous administration’s wrecking ball strategy. The Congresswoman also discussed the voter suppression tactics taking place in Georgia, and the terrible flashbacks brought on by the arrest of State Rep. Park Cannon. “We have to have federal protections. Otherwise we're going to go back to before the days of Jim Crow. We'll go back to days where African-Americans were quite frankly not seen as human beings.” » Subscribe to MSNBC:

Rep. Barbara Lee on GA Voter Suppression Tactics: “These Are Fundamental Attacks On Our Democracy"

  1. Passing voter suppression laws is an explicit admission that Republicans can’t win elections without cheating.

    1. I don’t think it really matters at this point, America has been taken over by Satanists and people who love Lucifer with all their heart. soul and mind. You really think that Georgia elected two full blooded satanists to the Senate for six years? Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as well, only a child of the devil would have voted for this antichrist satanic destruction of America. The republicans are not the answer but those on the left are fully aligned with the devil. How many liberal satanists go to heaven when they die? How many? They who hate God so much they have destroyed the foundations of life itself.

  2. States which push restrictions on voting should have any federal funding yanked until they decide to adhere to the basic principles of the Democracy!

    1. @psycobleach46 tullis Yeah on the surface that sounds bad, but is that what it is really doing?
I was hoping someone could give me specifics because I have spent about 30 minutes trying to find a copy of the bill online but can’t find it. There is the very real possibility I’m just stupid but maybe you can tell me where to get it.
Don’t you think something should be done so you don’t get another 4 years of people crying fraud? 8 years is enough.

    2. For those who are still unaware *THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF WIDESPREAD FRAUD IN THE 2020 ELECTION AND THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY EVIDENCE OF IT DESPITE REPEATED REPUGNICANT ACCUSATIONS!* _HOWEVER THERE’S EVIDENCE OF REPUGNICANTS VOTING IN DEAD RELATIVES NAMES!_

    3. Oh, and by the way, your hero Sydney (kraken lookalike) Powell said you people have no reasoning, as “no reasonable person would believe her ludicrous pipedream about the election” _so there’s always that to consider while mocking you magats!_ -chortle-

    4. @Move on Over Unless you’re from a majority White precinct of course. Then we’ll make sure to have extra voting stations because you should never have to wait 10 hours in line because you’ll melt like the snowflakes you Republicans are. You privileged fools are so ignorant about the reality of requiring an ID. This has been a weapon White supremacists have used for many years and it all starts with not having birth certificates. Do some basic research and learn something before you decide to post such a dumb comment. All you achieved was to prove to everyone how low your IQ is…

    1. Exactly. Actions speak louder than words as they say. And their actions are clearly racist and of desperation to regain power or possibly not lose it in Georgia

    2. Did Kemp even consider the optics? Inside, a group of White men flank him as he signs a racially controversial bill under a picture of an old, southern plantation. Outside, a Black woman is literally being shut out of the process, then arrested on ridiculously trumped-up, false charges. Unbelievable.

    1. Biden needs to clean house. Recount every repugnican racist votes for 2020 see where the fraud really was

    2. “Gobblesh da uniden schtache a merga” – Donald (the orange blight) Trump
“The ramp was soooo steep and scary”- Donald (the orange blight) Trump
“I am a stable genius with like a really big brain” – Donald (the orange blight) Trump
“Bing Bing bang bong boing bing”- Donald (the orange blight) Trump
“I have a knack for this virus stuff” – Donald (half-a-million-dead) Trump
_I have 5 years of ludicrous insanity for ammo, shall I continue “umgonna”?_

    3. They’ll just rely on the donations from those multi national fossil fuel companies. They’ll continue to donate so long as they toe their line.

    4. Biden received triple the money from special interest groups. So you’re mad at Trump why exactly? 😂😂

  3. Trump’s lawyer Sidney Powell’s defense to Dominion’s $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against her is that no reasonable person would believe her lies about election fraud.

    1. Well she ain’t lying this time, no reasonable person did believe her. Just the MAGA inbred cult.

    1. So you have an attempted murder charge on a law enforcement officer yet here you are in the comments, oh ok. Sounds good lady 😂😂

    1. @Anonymous Anonymous = FOOL , to say this as Kemp and Trump and other RepubliCONs use mail in ballots .

    2. @MRJTV thanks! Every US citizen gets a vote, if their situation makes it harder? It should be supported and streamlined.

    3. We should just make this simple. Since only tax payers should have a right to vote since it’s our money that’s being spent all tax payers should just register at their places of employment, cast their votes and count em on the spot. The day of the election. Problem solved.

  4. The Georgia GOP trying to make QAnon’s wet dream of arresting Democrats come true, starting with Rep. Cannon.

  5. Is it possible to recall these legislatures. Clearly they have no interest in governing for the people.

    1. @J it’s $24 for my ID & the baby needs diapers & i was gonna get my birth certificate but that’s $44 dollars,& i got a tix for going 54 in a 55,& that was $250 plus court costs $500 total. then i missed a payment so it’s $750. they towed my car cuz i didn’t pay my tix on time & that was $550.& i missed a day of work when they took my car, so my check was short.& the landlord don’t want to hear that.So it’s FU*KN expensive to be Poor!!!!! As*hole ! ID THAT !!!!

  6. “Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”
    ― George Orwell, 1984

  7. “You are a slow learner, Winston.”
“How can I help it? How can I help but see what is in front of my eyes? Two and two are four.”
“Sometimes, Winston. Sometimes they are five. Sometimes they are three. Sometimes they are all of them at once. You must try harder. It is not easy to become sane.”
    ― George Orwell, 1984

  8. A picture is worth a thousand words on both sides of that door. They took an OATH. She had every right to be their.

    1. @Redskin Ridah Yes, she did!! So you are dumb enough not to realize that this law affects you as well?! All they have done is to ramp up the Black vote!!! Can you say “BACKFIRE?”

  9. Why is she walking backwards. Biden Georgia needs you like you needed them. Check, CheckMate Kemp

  10. So this is democracy in the self proclaimed ‘greatest country in the world’? The ‘Land of Free’ – no, I don’t think so. The world is watching.

  11. 2020 Highest voter turnout and safest most secure US Election in History. Yet Georgia wants to make sweeping changes that makes it harder for more people to vote and making water an illegal substance.

  12. Oh oh that’s what’s going on this guy is up for election and Republicans trying to stop black people from voting, by getting rid of black people votes he can still be in power. 😂😆😅🤣😝😜🤪😛😝😜

  13. I still think that the most effective way is to boycott big companies headquartered in Georgia. I drink Pepsi now instead CocaCola, I shop at Lowe’s now instead HomeDepot.

  14. Isn’t ‘fundamental attacks’ a nice way of saying, ‘let’s wait to see what else GA’s governor will do to take away that which is constitutionally guaranteed to free Americans? Hmm?

  15. That cop that closed in on her while she knocked on the door, he put his head in as her hand went to knock, he grabbed her arm. I guarantee that was his impetus for accusing her of felonious assault on a peace officer. A little slight of physicality will not be missed by the security cams that recorded this ‘encounter’!
