40.2 percent of the American People say that Trump is doing a good Job.

Do you think your nation still has any future?

      LOL

    • @Nícolas Bruno these people are just outraged that violent marxist thugs in Portland have been arrested by federal officers as they are suspected of committing federal crimes.. they pretend to not be able to grasp this basic fact to act as if this is somehow an overstep of power.. meanwhile they’re the ones with politicians trying to order around federal officers that they have no jurisdiction over.. just point these facts out and ridicule them.. don’t engage they have nothing of value to ad just lies and delusions.. always look at the facts of a story yourself

    • @Manly_Man really.. you’re 57 and you still haven’t learnt that federal law enforcement offices exist.. wow i feel sorry for you. what rock have you been living under.. you see a federal officer is the ones that arrest people suspected of committing a federal crime…. tell me if I’ve lost you yet… perhaps your age and IQ match

  2. Fascistic overreach, abuse of power.

    • yea the state and local politicians know they have no jurisdiction over the federal offices and have no right to try to tell them to stop enforcing federal laws or arresting people suspected of committing federal crimes..

  3. They are testing this out in Portland to see how far they can take it. Watch them use this to crack down on blue voting cities in November…

    • John DiGiacomo | July 18, 2020 at 11:23 AM | Reply

dsndicmsa, federal government must notify state and local authorities, the officers must also have agency identification and personal identification. At that point they are nothing more than Trump’s vigilantes. A tweet is not official notification, or authorization. None of the protesters were charged with crimes, and they were not advised of why they were being detained. Most were not even near federal property. This was nothing more than harassment and intimidation by an out of control Trump, who is looking to distract from the rising death toll and increasing infection from the coronavirus pandemic.

    • @John DiGiacomo put the crack pipe down

    • They are already doing exactly that…RIGHT NOW. Have you heard of ‘poll watchers’?

At a strategy session in February attended by conservative donors and activists, several people expressed a specific need for Republican poll watchers in “inner city” and predominantly Native American precincts, according to audio recordings of the event obtained by The Intercept and Documented.

“You get some [Navy] Seals in those polls and they’re going to say, ‘No, no, this is what it says. This is how we’re going to play this show,’” said Catherine Engelbrecht, founder of True the Vote, a group that lobbies for voting restrictions and organizes volunteers to go into precincts and aggressively challenge voters who they believe are improperly registered. “That’s what we need. We need people who are unafraid to call it like they see it.”

Using former soldiers and law enforcement as poll watchers was banned in 1981 by a judicial consent decree imposed on the Republican Party, but that ban was lifted in 2018 when a New Jersey judge declined to renew it. The ban came explicitly in response to an effort by the Republican National Committee to intimidate voters in African American communities by creating a so-called Ballot Security Task Force, threatening arrest and a $1,000 fine for improper voting.

Participants in the meeting also spoke of vote-by-mail initiatives as an impending threat to Republican power. Attendees did not identify any specific examples of voter fraud around vote-by-mail — rather, they expressed concern that the measure would benefit Democrats. The meeting, in February, came at least a month before the coronavirus pandemic raised the issue of vote-by-mail as a public health measure nationwide. Since then, Republicans all the way up to the president have repeated the claim that mail-in ballots proliferate voter fraud — a claim for which there is no evidence.

The groups at the conference have wasted no time in acting to implement the measures mentioned in the meeting. True the Vote has already made efforts to recruit 50,000 former military and law enforcement to watch the polls, and filed a lawsuit to block New Mexico from instituting universal vote-by-mail as a response to concerns that in-person voting could expose voters to coronavirus.

    • Exactly.

  4. Second amendment rights are good for both wings if the American Eagle. The Governor should call out the National Guard to protect Oregon citizens from from unmarked military thugs using Gestapo tactics. I am proud of Oregon’s leaders and love my city. No more brownshirts in Portland!

Unless and until these people IDENTIFY themselves as Federal officers, they are not Federal officers exercising legitimate police power. They are kidnappers and can be dealt with as such.

    • Think BigPicture | July 18, 2020 at 1:39 PM | Reply

These are terrorists defined in patriot act. Section 802 of the USA PATRIOT Act (Pub. L. No. 107-52) expanded the definition of terrorism to cover “”domestic,”” as opposed to international, terrorism.   A person engages in domestic terrorism if they do an act “dangerous to human life” that is a violation of the criminal laws of a state or the United States, if the act appears to be intended to:  (i) intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination or kidnapping

    • Daniel Sobel | July 18, 2020 at 8:04 PM | Reply

@Emsley Wyatt You are absolutely correct. If they refuse to identify themselves, they should not be considered federal agents. In fact, the correct assumption should be that they are foreign agents ( not at all unlikely given what we know about Trump) and should be regarded as enemy combatants. The governor should call out the national guard to apprehend them and impound their vehicles.

  5. Do the Trumpians have an excuse for this too? This is tyranny.

    • John DiGiacomo | July 18, 2020 at 11:58 AM | Reply

Apparently Trumpublicans will defend any action that violates any rights except the second amendment. The protesters weren’t at the federal buildings or statues, they weren’t burning or defacing property. The federal “agents” weren’t requested by state or local authorities, and never notified them. There was no federal announcement, or presidential orders, tweets aren’t official notification. Perhaps you should try reading Niemoeller’s quote, or Orwell’s “Animal Farm” then again they’re probably too stupid to understand it. I never knew how the Germans could accept Hitler and the Nazis, now I’m watching it in real time.

Obama administration has argued that it can deport asylum-seekers without any oversight or review from the federal courts. This practice deprives asylum-seekers of their constitutional right to challenge their deportation orders in federal court.

These cases illustrate the inhumanity and unfairness of the Obama administration’s treatment of families and adults seeking asylum — treatment that the ACLU is fighting on several fronts

    • GreenIdLady 1 Good on you!

    • Not only will it apply across your nation as nobody strongly opposes these people, but they will begin to torture protesters. This is how they do it in other totalitarian regimes, first they simply detain them and then release the protesters without any contrast, then torture them after detention and finally make them disappear. Never heard of the DESAPARECIDOS refers to people who were arrested for political reasons, or even simply accused of having carried out “anti government” activities by the police of the Argentine, Chilean and other Latin American military regimes, and of whom they were lost following the tracks.

Typical of the phenomenon of desaparecidos was the secrecy with which government forces operated; the arrests and seizures often took place at night and generally without witnesses, as well as everything that followed the arrest remained secret: the authorities did not provide the family with news of the arrests and the charges themselves were usually very vague; of the majority of the desaparecidos nothing was actually known and only after the fall of the military regime and the return to democracy, with the publication of the report “Nunca más” (never again), which allowed the reconstruction of a part of the events and fate of a number of “missing persons”, it was possible to know that many of them were detained in concentration camps and clandestine detention centers, tortured and finally secretly murdered, with the concealment of corpses in mass graves or thrown into the Atlantic Ocean or in Rio de la Plata with the so-called “death flights”.

Your President Trump is racist (everyone knows that), especially against brown people of the Latin American community. Several times he has expressed his sympathy for his German origins (referring to Nazism). It makes me laugh that he wants to show himself as strong as a Nazi and yet the tactics he is using are more than similar to those of characters belonging to Latin American politics.
