To be fair, the reason why she used the word “shocked” is that she still understands the rules of decorum that elected officials are supposed to abide by, and therefore she does not use the word that she probably would use behind closed doors.
Most likely she wanted to use “disgusted”, “appalled”, “nauseated” . . . . . or something even more colourful than that.

Besides, there’s no doubt that many crimes were committed, which makes this a matter of prosecuting the culprits using the legal system – not collaborating with the culprits on yet another sham investigation steered by politicians.
@Red Alert Democrats lost seats in the House, but did retain a slim majority. They gained two seats in the Senate, but that only put them at 50/50, with Vice President Harris as tie breaker. Unless they can get a few Republicans to vote with them, along with all Democrats standing together in unison, the Democrats in both houses have a tough fight of it. That is why people should have voted for Democrats up and down the ticket. Failure to do so guaranteed that the newly elected Democratic Party president was going to have an uphill battle. Mitch McConnell has already announced his #1 agenda which is to oppose everything this new administration stands for. Republicans have already made it clear that they stand with Mitch. Not a single one of them voted for the covid relief package. They are as obstructionist as they have been for the past 12 years. They are fully committed to standing behind the Big Lie and the Liar-in-Chief. It is very, very difficult to investigate and prosecute the culprits when they are part and parcel of the investigatory commission and are actively working to obstruct and hinder the investigation. In other words, Kevin McCarthy, Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Madison Cawthorn, Lauren Boebert, et al, are actively impeding the investigation into the January 6, 2021, insurrection.
@Deborah Pinkey I understand that Kamala Harris, the tie-breaker, is also a Democrat. Stand up to these bullies and do so quickly. Laws have been broken and if Republicans try to meddle in the legal process there are very harsh penalties for doing so which require no political consent. Time is running out.

Too many dead people voted. I still have my paperwork to request an absentee ballot from a state I moved from years back sent to me from the DNC. I took the steps to close my voter’s registration once I moved. No need to lecture me on your inability to note voter fraud. Enjoy.

I find all this intriguing because I worked with the Capitol Hill Police Force in the office of the Sergeant At Arms on the Senate Floor through the 1970s and 80s. At that point, we all knew that our job was to function as a protective force for the Senators and Representatives and everyone working on Capitol Hill and in each and all of the Congressional Office Buildings. We literally operated as the Secret Service for the elected officials of the Legislative Branch. That was the known operational avenue and every officer, uniformed and plain-clothes, knew it and lived it. It was a point of pride for all of us. I don’t know when that common goal and purpose faded…. In those years… that was the reputation and culture that drew some of the best law enforcement candidates to the Capitol Hill Force. The Capitol Hill Police Force was the most revered post an officer could have. WTF happened ????

I never cease to be shocked by the shallowness of all politicians, regardless of party affiliation.
After Donald Trump incited an insurrection on Jan. 6, McCarthy reportedly phoned Trump and begged him to call off his QAnon-drunk dogs, only to get the reply, “Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are.”
That is exactly the quote that will convict Trump of attempted election fraud, among other things.
It`s not shallowness! It`s treason! They are breaking their oath by perpetuating the “Big Lie” and not the truth.
