Rep. Gallego: War In Afghanistan ‘Was Always Going To End Badly’

Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) says the lessons of the failures of the Vietnam War didn’t last long enough to influence the war in Afghanistan, something that contributed to its inevitable conclusion. He tells Lawrence O’Donnell the war ended in “the best situation we could have found ourselves in, unfortunately,” and hopes that in the future the U.S. realizes it is “not an occupying force.”

  1. How many people need to reiterate this. Oh yeah, republicans only get it when its repeated enough times to sink in.

    1. @Denise Higgins Bush started the war, Biden voted for it and continued the endless war in the middle east under Obama as Vice President when ISIS was the most powerful

    2. No one’s buying this dumb argument. It’s like Hickenlooper and other dummy’s getting Covid after being fully vaxed and then saying, thank god I was vaccinated because my symptoms would be so much worse. A totally unprovable argument that only a partisan would buy.

    3. @orange man RAD Biden pressured Obama to pull out for eight years. He’s gonna win the Nobel prize, and trumpublicans heads will explode instantly with very little brain splatter.

    4. @Denise Higgins he’s facing a backlash from across the globe. He left people behind. He armed terrorists. Somehow this qualifies him for a peace prize…

  2. The commercial before this video is absolutely disgusting, for the young girl who supposedly has diabetes. 🤮🤑👺

  3. Removing the military equipment was always a logistical nightmare. Not the people. Impotent planning from Bush war pigs

    1. *Biden called off the Drone that could have prevented the bombing in Kabul*

According to Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Roger Pardo-Maurer:

He said not only did they know where and when it would happen, but that they had a Predator drone lock on the bomber, but that “they” refused to grant permission to take the guy out. “[Permission] was requested and was denied,” he said. Why? “Because we are in this process of negotiating with the Taliban who aren’t even in control of their own government or their own people.”

    2. Nothing to do with Bush. Drones could have hit the remaining equipment rather than leaving it there. But consider this… who’d leave the pallets of approx $1B in hundred dollar bills if it wasn’t intentional???

  4. Absolutely. The ENTIRE COUNTRY must commit to the war, if we are to go to war. It can’t be hidden & silent, like Afghanistan & Iraq have been.

  5. Because of the economic crisis and the rate of unemployment, now is the best time to invest and make money 💯,

    1. I’ve got 12th winning thanks to Mr Charles Robert, he’s really the best , I have made £16,200 in 18 days of working with him

    2. I met Mr Charles Robert for the first time at a conference in manchester i invested £25,000 and traded in one month making close to £143,670

  6. Thank you. We have two weeks of infantile whining from 90% of MSNBC. It is nice to hear an honest and informed evaluation.

    1. Americans believe in freedom so some didn’t want to leave so show our government force dem to? The government can’t even make people wear mask lol.

  7. These guys will lie anything and say it was a great success and take the credit but anybody blames them then they point Trump …..

    1. Let’s see…who has control of the house right now? When you answer that then you’ll realize no impeachment is going to happen.

  8. Trump created many treasons against America during, at the end of his term of office, and following his term of office. Precipitating the withdrawal of American troops and our allies under the worst possible set of circumstances was just one more of Trump’s treasons. Yes, he should be shot, but that’s a question for another day. Our troops did a spectacular job with the airlift. We will have to trust the skills of our government to rescue the remaining people, if possible.

  9. After many diasporas since the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan 1979 up to 2019,there were 2,727,556 Afghanis Refugees under UNHCR’s mandate and 255,244 Asylum-seekers. None of them went back to their Heritage Lands. The last stronghold of resistance to Taliban – Panjshir Valley. Why are all Afghanis living at west only protesting? None of them are going to join the resistance. Perhaps outside Afghanistan there are no more lions like at Panjshir and the other groups of resistance.
