The states are not going to flip. The election is over. Accept the results of the election because it’s reality.
Let’s ignore the fact that no evidence has been found showing any large scale voter fraud after countless re-counts. The reality is that reducing voting hours, reducing voter locations, limiting mail in ballots will do nothing to stop voter fraud, only post election audits can do that. All those measures do is limit the ability to vote for the most vulnerable members of society which is all it was meant to do.

This bill isn’t authoritarian, it just helps people have the right to vote without their vote being suppressed.
When a politician doesn’t want people to vote, or votes for restrictive laws around elections, seems to me that’s the fox guarding the chicken coop.

If it’s not the full For the People Act it barely matters. Explication:
All the John Lewis Voting Rights Act does is remove the hurdles that the GQP is putting up to suppress the vote. So it basically returns us back to before 2013 before the activist SC gutted the VRA (Voting Rights Act of 1965). That’s important, but:
It doesn’t stop state officials from overturning the will of the voters!
For instance, a state could go for a dem candidate by margin of 10k, 50k, even 100k+ votes and the GQP state officials could still simply state: “That’s nice: but we don’t recognize these votes as legitimate.” and then simply refuse to certify them.
So it won’t even matter if enough people are able to vote due to GQP suppression being removed, because the end result was fixed beforehand by the state GQP.
Example: this would be akin to earning a passing grade on a test, maybe even a great grade, but nonetheless having the instructor refuse to recognize the grade as legitimate (and they don’t even have to say, much less prove, that you cheated: they just give you a failing a grade with no explanation and there is nothing you can do about it).
Only the full For the People Act gets rid of this huge GQP rigging of elections. So Manchin or anyone else supporting the John Lewis Voting Rights Act in the place of the For the People Act is noting but a bad faith subterfuge. DO NOT fall for it!

there are SO many reasons to be against the so called “for the people act”. HERE IS JUST ONE: S1 would FORCE all states to allow anyone to vote who simply signs a form saying that they are who they claim they are. When combined with the mandate that states implement same-day voter registration, it means I could walk into any polling place on Election Day, register under the name John Smith, sign a form claiming I really am John Smith, cast a ballot, and walk out. Not only would election officials have no way of preventing that or verifying that I am not really John Smith, I could repeat this in as many polling places as I can get to.
So… no. Voter ID is common sense to everyone except those who seek to game the system. Manchin gets it. So do other democrats, but THEY ARE looking to game the system.
Yeah. We want both HR 1 and HR4 passed.
