@mike mann There is no “war” against Afganistan per se. There is an Authorization of the Use of Military Force, but Congress never declared war. So it’s not clear treason would be prosecutable, even if an American gave aid and comfort to the Taliban. Even John Walker Lindh, the “American Taliban” was not charged with treason.
Sedition is more like it although since we are still technically in a cold war with Russia treason could apply.
