    1. Disgusting, cheating pretend president Elect Joe and his disgusting, corrupt family Will NEVER get close to the White House. Heading to DC on the 6th to watch Mr Biden officially lose and Librals cry AGAIN!

    2. @N 827 Awww sweetie, not now, the adults are talking. Hang on I’ll put some Sesame Street on. I know you like to keep you mind occupied.

  1. Trump has two parts of a brain: ‘left’ and ‘right’.

In the left side there’s nothing right.
And in the right side there’s nothing left.

Dear cultists, do NOT forget your MANDATORY education starting 20/Jan 2021. America will do its best to educate your kind to understand and respect facts, truths, logic, science, decency, humanity, civility, …

Failing this education will automatically end with losing your citizenship. Not that any of your kind ever deserved to have it. Oh, and Confederacy is bad. Very bad.

    1. She supports the rule that necessitates the waiver for him to serve. Sounds like she’d support him for the role once the waiting period is up, but sees no reason to waive that period.

  2. I have no opinion on the waiver thing, but General Austin served for 41 years and retired when Cadet Bonespurs took office.
Sounds like a pretty reasonable and forward-thinking man, if you ask me.

    1. Our founding fathers wanted civilian control of the military for good reasons. Austin may be a good man, but his being on the board of a defense contractor, Raytheon, should be disqualification enough for this job. The fact he needs a waiver makes him an even worse choice. Michelle Flournoy would have been a better choice, but then she wasn’t good buddies with Biden’s late son. This pick of Austin smacks of cronyism.

    2. @Deborah Freedman And compared to anyone in the Trumpanzee administration Austin is about 10 billion times more qualified, more honest, more patriotic, and more everything

  3. Come on Mr. President, Get your “crowd” in the Senate to pass this. So that “we” can say that you did at least “one” good thing for “us”.

    1. Presidential candidates are NOT even vetted. It would have been too easy to disqualify The Donald if it mattered. Look at the goons Trump sold Ambassadorships to….think they were ever vetted? It’s not even an issue in DC.

  4. Thank God things are going back to normal. After four years of the Republicans just letting Trump do any kind of “acting” appointment in order to circumvent the confirmation process, they are finally remembering that they’re supposed to question presidential appointments at least a little. Maybe soon they’ll be telling Biden that even 36 months before an election is much much too soon to seat a SCOTUS judge.

Edit: Biden should just do “acting” appointments for a few years in order to show them why laws are meaningless if not equally applied to all.

    1. Acting secretaries don’t need approval, which is why Trump used them. And the only reason Mattis was given a waiver, was it was correctly assumed that Trump’s next pick would be even worse. Biden could do better than picking a Sec. of Defense because he was friends with his son. Someone without Austin’s numerous conflicts of interest, and a true civilian, should have been chosen. There is too much sexism in the armed forces, a female Sec. of Defense would eliminate the boy’s club atmosphere.

    1. Or better, someone without his numerous conflicts of interest should be chosen, like Flournoy. It would be nice to see a woman in this role, and she is uniquely qualified, more qualified than Austin.

  5. Maybe then he can help the call for General Flynn back to active service so he can face court martial for being a TRAITOR and no longer be able to collect a military pension. He’s a disgrace to the uniform. My father was career army and he would have been OUTRAGED at this sleazy behavior.

  6. Considering the knuckle heads in the current Senate, Austin should pass on the nomination. But since he’s a true Patriot he’ll accept and be subject to Republican’s Jim Crow style inquisition.
