Reporter says Cawthorn’s loss doesn’t equate to a Trump loss

Trump-backed candidate Rep. Madison Cawthorn conceded his race in the GOP primary for North Carolina's 11th District to opponent Chuck Edwards in a phone call, Cawthorn spokesperson Luke Ball said. CNN's John Berman and Kaitlan Collins discuss with The Washington Post reporter Leigh Ann Caldwell. #CNN #News

  1. Does this mean that the next time Madison Cawthorn gets caught boarding an airplane carrying a weapon, he’ll be arrested like regular folk? 🙄

    1. @Nathan Sutphin Have a party with your dolls to cheer up and then go chase some more Unicorns.

  2. A loss is a loss. Not sure how trump can endorse someone, lose and then say it’s not a loss for his brand. Keep in mind cawthorn is not a Republican he’s part of the Trump con.

    1. @Mary Lamb
Your so brave and tough behind your computer screen but this is not a joke or an insult I truly wish for females like you a country with just you your children and your males because I can see witch burnings being brought back.
      P. S. Other than that I wouldn’t mind seeing your story on dateline or cbs mysteries!

    2. @Bernard M.

      Lol

I’m thinking yours has already been on dateline, and you’re on a wanted list somewhere.

    3. @Bernard M.

      Brave and tough 😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝

  3. I guess NC voters exercised their own form of Replacement Theory on Madison. Glad it worked.

  4. Cawthorne’s own arrogance and he thought that just because he was in a wheelchair that people would have extra empathy for him? He was wrong and that’s why you lost!

  5. The lesson is DON’T BE A LYING HYPOCRITE ! He bashed in public who he was in private.

    1. @wisegeorge365 Really i guess your a fox viewer and think tucker is telling you the truth…

  6. I’d like to know more about Cawthorn’s invitation to a “party”, presumably with Gaetz and Carlson.

    1. @Patriotz Finder He lost ….. no big deal … The Victor isnt a RINO and that is a Victory ..

    2. Unless the ‘party’ was held at a bath house,
Cawthorn would have only been decoration!!!

  7. Dude literally did nothing in Congress. I don’t know how he even came that close all him, MTG, and Boboert do is talk.

  8. Imagine you have to do work as a congressman? He would have gotten away with all of his lying if he didn’t start bad mouthing his own party… He’s not trump, so he can’t do that for his own party members.

  9. How the hell is it not a loss for trump, his endorsement didn’t hold weight to push cawthoron over the line

    1. @Joey S Aww, you’re liking your own comments; aren’t you just special?
First of all; who and, more importantly, what is a “true supremacist”?
Secondly, I noticed you have no response to my other questions, although they kind of speak for themselves and require no response.

    2. Cawthorne was getting a boost from Trump although it was already pretty sure he had an up hill battle..it was a nice gesture

  10. Well he already saw this coming he should have already known he was going to lose🤔

  11. Whether or not this is indicative of Trump being a loser, Cawthorn is and I’m delighted he’s out of government.

  12. Can you please stop calling “a win for Trump” or “a loss for Trump,” “a Trump backed candidate,” “a candidate not endorsed by Trump.” Call the wins and losses what they are. These people won or lost with or without the bogus kingmaker. By constantly invoking his name you’re only empowering him and you’re making the rest of us nauseous

  13. So…Cawthorn has no reason to be polite or discrete about his conversations about the GOP. This could become interesting. 😊

    1. It won’t mean nothing, Maddie’s on his way to Palookaville. Nomore national media coverage little boy. Bye 👋

  14. I understand the whole “DT factor” when discussing these things. I really do. But how about just focus on Cawthorn being a loser and move on.

  15. No, it’s still a Trump loss because people seem to forget that Trump did a lot of the same things that Cawthorn did, it’s a reputiation of the type of candidate represented by Trump. Somebody else just loosely affiliated with Trump or that has Trump endorsement is a little bit different and somebody that’s basically like a mini Trump vulgar, scandals, lazy, not performing duties etc.

  16. When 70% of the electors don’t vote for you – that’s not just a loss but an overwhelming rejection.
