    1. @Gonz For most, the tips are collected and redistributed at the end of day. Some premise just charge 10% on the bill … same idea.

    2. @Sarah Lee not true, cook workers and back of house never get a share on the tips, thats between servers and bartenders, yet their average goes from 7.5 to 12 and hour, and is real hard work.

    3. @Gonz It ‘used to be’ how you’d described. Remember those ‘tip jar’ … they moved toward that idea … specially for establishment (ex: Red Robin) where cooks don’t have ‘chef’ wages. ‘tip’ is part of ‘salary negotiation’ these days .. and that’s the problem.

    4. @Gonz just to add, ‘tip’ is also ‘unfair’ as people wants ‘weekend’ shift … more tips. And, owner biases toward ‘white women’ on weekend. Get rid of tips!

    1. @FunSizeDi88 except the fact is that raising the minimum wage helps small and local businesses. Raising it has aided, not damaged, ;local businesses in every state where it has been done.

There is a reason that the top 20 state economies are all, every one, in a state with a higher minimum wage. Or is that just a coincidence?

    1. I wouldn’t get out of bed for less than $500 bucks per hour. It’s shocking what we think we can get away with paying desperate people to do the jobs we would rather not do for ourselves! Seriously sickening. That level of entitlement never lasts either. Sooner or later, someone pulls it all down, and what comes next is usually way worse

    2. @Ash Roskell $500/hr? You must be a lawyer. Haha. I’m an Electrician, no matter what, we will always be needed, and I only make $36/hr, unless it’s a rate job for the state. I spent 4 years working full time and going to school part time, and I still need another 2 yrs of working hours and school to become a master technician, to make over $50/hr. I work hard everyday, sorry but I just don’t see $500/hr being the minimum for anyone who isn’t in an extremely rare field, like neuro surgery or particle physisct.

  1. This should not be a fight. Gas prices go up. Rent goes up . lights go up. Water go up. Car notes go up. But not min. Wage. REALLY🤔🙌🏽🙏🏻❤

    1. These businesses didn’t close doing the pandemic. They have the money to pay more. Don’t let them fool u. A lot of the main food stores never closed and still open. They have it to pay. They just want to keep on doing what they have been doing. They want fire people they need them to run those businesses.

    1. @Tom Senft I have not had a minimum wage job since high school and that was $3.25 an hour.
75k a year now. How about you?

    2. @T Bear
Again you are wrong! The majority of Americans believe it was a fair election and all 50 state governments certified their voters and elector votes. Trump said it was unfair a year before a vote was cast and so you listened to his BS like a child who is a sore loser believing only what you choose too and denying any truth that doesn’t support your wishes. The World is shocked at the ignorance of Trump and his supporters like you and yet dismayed that he could lead an assault on our government because he is the Greatest Sore Loser in History. The very essence of being an American is the democratic principle that majority rules and power is peacefully transferred to the people’s elected leader. 7 million more Americans chose Biden, 60 lawsuits alleged and thrown out of courts by mostly Republican seated judges. Not one recount or irregularity could find enough votes to change a single states outcome. So please T Bear. Stop the BS the only thing stolen was your good sense and you will need to vote another day. You and the likes of you are an embarrassment to America and deny us the credibility of our word and the honor of our being. So STFU if you can’t handle the truth…the rest of us live by it with pride.

    3. @I.K Rico You have no clue what prude is. Did you serve to defend this country? I did. Your opinions on the election are extremely wrong.
Everything was covered up that is a fact. A lot of shady crsp going on that night with the Anti American demonrats. They will never ever work for the benefit of Americans. China joe on day 1 eliminated over 10k union jobs with the stroke of a pen. It will only get worse from here.

    1. We all already know the answer to that. The predominately red states would be against the minimum wage. They are also the states most likely to get federal subsdize and have the lowest quality of life.

    2. @Sean Morgan A poll in Georgia – which actually has a state minimum wage of $5.15 an hour from 2016 found the majority of Georgia voters supported a minimum wage rise.

“Polling conducted by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in August 2016 … found that 55 percent of registered Georgia voters supported raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour.”

    1. DEMOCRATS, REPUBLICANS AND MEDIA HAVE WEAKENED U.S. DEMOCRACY. OBAMA TOOK US FROM 2 TO 7 ENDLESS WARS AND SO IS BIDEN.

  2. too be fair is wages had kept up with productive increases like they did up to the 1970s the minium wage should be something like 20~25$ an hour so .. 15 is low balling it and they still wont accept it ..

  3. This dude is a legit liar. He can just roll it off his tounge sooo straight faced it’s amusing 😂💯🤡

  4. They say wage increase can’t be included in covid relief bill but they let the Republicans put in funding to rename military bases on the last one.

  5. how can you say most americans want this when anyone that makes more than minimum wage gets an indirect pay cut?

  6. I think the Senate and house members should have to live on what the existing federal minimum wage is for 6 months. Maybe it would give them an insight into what a lot of Americans try to live off.

  7. We The People need to hold a “fender buster” of our own. Time to take advantage of accident forgiveness; it’s GREAT!

  8. I do wish people would stop saying “the democrats” when it’s really just Manchin and Sinema. We need two more seats in the senate for killing the filibuster to become plausible. The idea that this would all be solved with a single election was always doomed to be fantasy.

  9. I’m sorry: “MOST Americans want”? How ridiculous is that?! Look how the rents have gone up, minimum wage needed to have gone right up with it, the same percentage. It hasn’t even come close. This is criminal.

    1. What make you assume that the ‘rent’ would stay the same when min wage goes up? There is a reason why rent in California is higher than West Virginia.
