1. Donbas Region -Russia “putin” wants to annex this one next to continue the land bridge to Crimea because they never got to do this on their first assault due to Ukrainians fighting back. Spider is wrong about the ‘promise’ it was specific to the GDR and expansion in eastern Germany. Gorbachev would know wouldn’t he? The spirit of the expansion though is problematic. When Spider says NATO lied (granted he did say ‘in his eyes we lied to him’) the funny thing is he’s repeating Putin’s propaganda. Spider is mostly right in his analysis but partly (mostly) wrong about NATO’s supposed promise. That comment about 20 years hurts …

and i think regardless if there was a promise or no, Putin’s main question is “why? What have we done in 90s for NATO to approach closer?. We were suppirtive of the west all thruout 90s”. The answer is “just in case. You are the bad guy. so just in case”. He kinda makes sense too.

Per classic military strategies, spider’s presentation here is spot on. Unfortunately that strategy is already obsolete. If those were the reference by the west as anticipations, no wonder Russia has the upper hand on these unfortunate events in Ukraine.
