    1. @EDUARDO It’s not cool when the Libs inject Trump into the discussion for no reason.
It’s not cool when (I assume you’re conservative?) injects Trump into the discussion for no reason.
This war has precious little to do with Trump.
      Or Texas for that matter.

  1. This was very enlightening. Especially how terrific the U.S. return on investment is in supporting Ukraine. Such a small amount in comparison to our Defense budget and such a huge return for the world on containing Putin’s murderous megalomaniacal ambitions and when Ukraine wins because of it’s huge resources (not the least of whoch is its people and their love of democracy). Our investment in Europe and Japan after WWII paid off in huge ways. This is very smart long term thinking. Meanwhile Putin completely ignores the needs of his country and it’s people or locks them up or ki11s them much as every crazy dictator does.

    1. @emmawang1999 Not really, the biggest issue for russia, is it cant make anything new, their down to sending 60 year old tech to the front lines… they cant give their soldiers basic items like body armour and medkits… they even struggle with logistics… russia has lost more people, then they did in ten years of anouther war… their economy is on life, russia before the war had a lower gdp then italy, their a economic rump state… while the west, even if they commit like 0.1% if their gdp, its like 0.6 Trillion dollars… This will only end one way, the only two countries that theorretically could bail out Russia is China, and India, and they wont fr economic reasons…

    3. Fully worth the investment US is poring.Give them Patriot air defence system to protect the Ukranians .
Putin the brute war manic has gone pissed mad to attack civil people.
It frightens me to see resident flats been totally recklessly destroyed by this crazy idiot.

  2. This war is the most cost effective thing the US has ever supported since WW2. Even there it was questionable to extend a Lend Lease to one dictator (Stalin) to defeat another. So yeah this is the geo. political investment bang for the buck deal of a lifetime.

    1. Even if the US never sees a dime of that money back, it is worth it.
      a. The Russian threat is being destroyed.
      b. US weapons are being tested out against actual Russian troops. This normally costs many billions of taxpayer dollars to simulate. Now we’re getting real-deal weapons testing for a fraction of that. There could be no better real world test.

    2. 80% of all German military deaths occurred on the Eastern Front
Helping Stalin, although distasteful was better than not supporting him

    3. If it comes down to it with the Republicans, Biden should offer to hit Pause on new NASA projects and operations in favor of diverting all that $$ to Ukraine. Democracy > space science.

    1. Russia doesn’t intend on taking Ukraine over, it intends on capturing predominantly Russian speaking and ethnic Russian areas of Ukraine and depose the US puppet government of Ukraine to ensure it is no longer a security risk to Russia.

    2. @Todd Mackett Zelensky is an actor who regularly pretends to be in downtown Kyiv while he is really in a television studio behind a screen, the whole thing is a show to convince idiots like you, look it up if you don’t believe me, type Zelensky green screen into Google!

    1. You TV watchers in the USA are hilarious to watch spouting the nonsense you get told each day on the media channel of your choice.
The USA tried to weaken Russia’s economy and weaken the Ruble…but Russia’s economy and the Russian Ruble are both doing just fine…while the USA & western Europe’s economy are now tanking …and neo-fascists are coming to power in European countries Italy and Sweden.
You watch too much TV…and you don’t have enough skepticism about what you’re being told.

    2. Are all these retired Generals/ Political annalyst actualy going to ukraine and seeing combat to make these assesments? They kind of lose some credibility if they are on CNN payroll.

  3. United States is worthy of respect from the heart, they have shown leadership is not transactional

    1. @Proto Rhinocerator You know I’ve not been a fan of us funding our military as much as we have been, but this whole situation is kinda a counterpoint.

  4. We have used about 3.6 percent of our military budget to actually help defeat 25 percent of the Russian military. The investment is a large amount but the return is fantastic. This was with older type weapons that we don’t use and are not likely to us d in a modern war.
We have a significant “mothball fleet” of ships, aircraft and rotorcraft as well as weapons of infantry. . We will not likely ever use them. We can provide a part of them to help defeat Russia’s aggressions. It will be no real loss to us but a great benefit to us and the freedom of Europe.
Please send our older A10s and older as weapons that are 15+ years old to the Ukraine.

      Too much TV…not enough skepticism.

    2. A10’s would fall from the skies like flies in Ukraine. They can only operate when they’re under air supremacy and an uncontested sky. SAM’s and MANPADs are everywhere these days. They also take a lot of highly-trained and equipped people to keep them working.

  5. Aside from the supply issues that they discussed as one reason why the “3 attackers to 1 defender” rule of thumb might not apply here, that rule assumed a 3-to-1 ratio of soldiers on an equal level. If it’s true that the Russians stuffed their Kherson garrison with new conscripts, then it’s not going to be of that much help to the remaining veterans in the group.

  6. That is such a good point: The old adage about the required attacker/defender ratio of 3/1 is not true in this case. The Ukrainians are a vastly more capable fighting force, and the Russkies are wasting a not insignificant number of men as rearguards watching their own men in the first and second lines in case they decide to run away. Russian lines are about to collapse on a wide front.

    1. That’s right! Slava Ukraine! 🇺🇦 Let’s just hope that Kherson is an easy win, but I believe that is where Putin will use his WMD.

    2. @K C I have a feeling a response is waiting if they do. If he does that the war goes global and Russia is now vulnerable to attack. Putin may be emotional and desperate but he’s not stupid. And considering the Russian armed forces couldn’t fight their way out of an outhouse and now the world knows it, Putin really doesn’t want that

  7. Recent intercepted phone calls reveal that the Orcs do not have food and supplies and are very desperate. They also mentioned that all the prisoners recruited were sent directly to the front and being wiped out.

  8. Pootin spent billions on shiny new gear (which corruption turned into shiny new yachts in the Med), and a much smaller amount on quality of life for his “professional” soldiers (which corruption turned into shiny new yachts in the Med), which is why they have no NCO corps. Nobody would willingly live like that unless there was no other choice. In such an “army”, the focus is not on the mission, it is on getting money any way you can so that you might have a decent life. Active operations makes it obvious that all the money was siphoned off. Using the word “dysfunction” to describe this is almost a euphemism!

  9. The investment to stop an invading Army, good. The investment in learning how equipment actually works or not is good. The investment for helping humans priceless.

  10. I’m always learning something new every time that guy is taking about the Russo-Ukranian war.
As a non-military guy, I find the most interesting part was the 3 to 1 ratio is only applicable for forces of equal strength.

    1. Or equal ability, equal footing, etc.
10 Spartans would lay waste to 1000 Athenian philosophers holding swords.
Russian soldiers are NOT the equal of Ukrainian soldiers.

  11. This guy needs to be on for an hour, not a crummy 5 minutes. I hang on every word; awesome information and insightfulness.
