    1. @7X HARDER
If you wanna to get that deep there usually only 2 forces pushing against each other

  1. OMG, all that has been on TV is this billionaire blast-off. We’ll be seeing it on all news channels all week…, WTF ???

    1. @Paul Astle Branson’s company is about to go under and they can’t afford to pay employee salaries

  2. …what a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon …I wonder if he had time to pick up a T shirt WOW …I’m old enough to remember the first moon landing and now this

  3. “Now Richard, can you tell us how much attention you actually do need to not immediately disintegrate at any given moment?
    Oh, all of it. Cool.”

    1. Still haven’t figured out why all the billionaires are in a space race, huh? Well, when our little climate problem goes to runaway status, which will be soon, then the earth’s own AC system kicks in, which are super volcanoes that could usher in a new ice age, or just block the sun for a decade or so forcing all our crops to fail. Can’t wait to tell everyone that I told you so as we all fight and starve to death.

    2. @Sandra Wade We will be, but you’ll just have to wear a fire suit so you don’t burst into flames!

    1. Isn’t this the guy that has been lecturing all of us about carbon footrprints and how much fuel we use and how we’re destroying the planet??

So he gets a twin engine plane that carries his rocket into the air, and then he does a rocket burn in the atmosphere lol? How many thousands of pounds of fuel were burnt and carbon expended on that one richard?

  4. The hell with space, I want to go to Branson’s private Caribbean island. That place looks cool.

    1. Ever since the Jeffrey Epstein case, I don’t want to go to anybody’s private island. Next thing you know, years down the line they get busted for something that has nothing to do with you, but your name is in the visitors log. F*ck that!

  5. The overview effect. Richard Branson had two minutes and now wants to protect the rainforest. When Bezos goes, hopefully he goes way farther and stays out there for a week or two. Then maybe he’ll make sure his workers have a safe environment to go to every day. Or give them bathroom breaks.

    2. @Bill Billson About the same as a transatlantic flight, which thousands of people make every day. It’s not great, and there are cleaner burning rocket engines than the solid fuel that this burns, but its not like rocket launches make up a majority of pollution expended on earth.

    3. @Entropic i don’t really care about the pollution. It’s just odd to watch a guy lecture people for so long about carbon and then that same exact person take a 4 engine aircraft drag his rocket up there and then he does a rocket burn as well. I mean the hypocrisy level is off the flippin chart.

    4. @Bill Billson Its not just that. Imagine how much carbon he puts into the air traveling to his private island. He’s a massive Hippocratic.

At least Musk is living a minimal lifestyle. Not sue hes much better but at least he doesn’t seem like an absolute Hippocratic.

    5. @B Babbich — i concur. Not to mention ole branson was good friends with epstein which just adds a whole nother level to this guys dirtbaggery

  6. Happy this was a safe trip unlike two others over the decades that failed heading to space resulting in death and billions of dollars.

  7. It highlights just how small our planet is in the universe, it’s our home and we should take care of it.

    1. By having branson lecture us about carbon usage while he does rocket burns in the atmosphere?

    1. The Firmament does exist; it’s just that flat-earthers and detractors alike misinterpret what that is exactly…they’re both confused.

    1. Yes- lately, the news cycles are full of billionaires and their latest toys, many space-related. To me, kind of sickening. There is hunger and death by the millions down on earth, and these obscenely rich “haves”- Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg, now Branson, spending untold millions on space toys.

    2. @Monish Chatterjee From the comments most Americans could care less how the wealthy burn their money.

    2. @Bill Billson I recommend you watch everyday astronaut’s rocket pollution video. It goes over all the different type of fuel and oxidizer combinations, how damaging they are, and the spaceflight industry as a whole. It’s long but in-depth. There’s also an article version of the video

    1. @William Jones Good point. After the GOP gutted truth-in-advertising laws, it’s hard to tell anymore.

  8. Everyone’s hating cuz he’s a privilege billionaire that can now go to space ofteb, but you gotta admit it’s fkn awesome to achieve something like this.
