I’m a medical doctor in SF and I cannot, in good conscience, maintain my silence any longer. The supposedly “evil Chicoms” are providing free ECMO and ICU care for their citizens while here in America, the majority of Americans won’t get access to that affordably. It is only the preserve of the rich.
See the WHO task force report by Dr Bruce Aylward about China’s response to the virus. The Chinese response has been unprecedented and effective at halting further spread of the virus. Their actions bought us in America a valuable 4-6 weeks before the virus reaches here. However this administration has squandered that time – with still insufficient and faulty test kits and poor response to contain the virus. We can easily expect Pence to do the standard thing any corrupt regime does when confronted with their own gross incompetence: distract us with a foreign target/nation while denying the most basic of human rights to Americans – the right to life.
Watch him prepare to use terms like “China virus” or “Wuhan virus” – nomenclature that is inaccurate and not approved by the WHO instead of the official COVID-19name – to try to shift the blame on the Chinese as usual.

I live in Beijing. Health care *generally* is not free, although it is very affordable. When this virus hit, it was broadcast through the media and even through the streets that all medical expenses would indeed be covered for this virus, or even for suspected cases. They took great efforts to make that message clear. The fear of course was that people would rather not pay for treatment and try their luck at home, all while spreading the virus far and wide.
The country has gone to extraordinary lengths to curb the spread of this virus; measures that many of us in the entitled west would bristle at _(‘muhh freeeedums’),_ but it appears to have been very effective. All for nought though, with countries like the US and UK treating it like nothing…. bit of a shame, to say the least.

They couldn’t have know it would be this bad, the testing took weeks, but they took it seriously and acted quickly with drastic measures once they realised that it wasn’t a reoccurrence of the SARS epidemic.. Of course the quarantine has helped them, but it is far from done there.
Trump on the other hand has all of f the information in front of him and is still brushing it off and failing to tackle reality.. If it had started in the US while he was in charge, he would just let the people rot, he definitely wouldn’t warn anyone… As long as the money was rolling in, it will all be fine!!

Focusing on China at this stage is misdirection designed to distract from America’s failed response. Mike Pompeo was on MSNBC yesterday talking about how long it took China report (sure, true) when the issue now is how long it has taken the US to respond.
Anon Dr. Redfield from CDC said he has been in contact since China CDC on New Year’s Eve. Secretary Pompeo can spin this however he wants, but basically, the US learned about this virus essentially the same time as Chinese did.
China can do 1.6 million tests per week.

I grow up in Muslim region in China and I never heard of it. And about half of all my friends are Chinese Muslims, and they’re all pretty normal ppl with pretty normal lives only except for having some privilege here and there over general policies such as getting lowered college admission line and that’s it!

Watch, in the next few weeks Trump will announce a new trade agreement China with that goes in favor of China. Why? Because that’s exactly what it will be, a favor to Xi Jinping/China in exchange for false reports coming out of China on what’s happening with the virus there. Why? If even half of the information being leaked out of China (by citizens and officials risking their lives to film and upload) is true, this is not being taken seriously enough by us Westerners. There is evidence to suggest that this is not the coronavirus as the scientific community understands it. Public panic is something that everyone wants to avoid but stressing the narrative that this is nothing more than an average flu, that is only a risk to the vulnerable, is dangerous. As a Canuck, we currently have no travel restrictions or federal preventative measures to stifle the spread so far. And, as a sick Canuck with no immune system thanks to necessary treatments, that scares the bejesus out of me.
